Your hero, Bill. You are probably the only person in the country that likes him. Even New Yorkers despise him. I was in New York the week he announced he was running for Presdident, trust me they hate him.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio urged people to go out and catch a movie just three weeks before his city became the U.S. epicenter for the coronavirus outbreak.
On March 1, the first case of the coronavirus was announced in New York City. At the time, more than 80,000 people worldwide had confirmed cases of the virus, and President Trump had issued travel warnings against South Korea and Italy. However, de Blasio wasn't as concerned.
"Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions," de Blasio tweeted on March 2. "Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see The Traitor [at Lincoln Center]. If The Wire was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film."
As of Wednesday morning, New York had more than 25,000 confirmed cases and 210 related deaths from the virus. Many Twitter users condemned de Blasio for his nonchalance at the beginning of the outbreak.
De Blasio was also slammed for going to the gym hours after announcing that they would be closed citywide the next day.

Are the target ranges still open Daly?
Some grim shit down there.
Easter is coming
Old and busted: Sonatine is a genius for predicting Corona will kill a few of us
New and hot: Sonatine is an idiot for thinking Corona will only kill "a few" of us
I think we should probably change the name of the thread.

Needless to say for selfish reasons I hope there is something to this.
My better half works at a local major hospital in palm beach county and as of yesterday they have 6 confirmed cases...... and it’s not a cook the books thing where they haven’t tested 20 more it’s a “hard” 6. They are obviously taking it seriously but there are a lot of people down here in the medical community who have friends in the northeast and they are wondering why it hasn’t hit the same way around here yet.
If we being honest about the timeline “South Florida” starred to take “real notice” on March 13 after Tom Hanks/NBA. By Monday the 16th 80% of places started to close up and bars were closed.... so point being somewhere between 3/16 and 3-19 things were in shit down around here. We are at day +10 point of “real lockdown”.
Some fucking dumbasses and spring breakers aside..... the locals around here have done a good job staying in. I’d hate to “declare victory” in Florida at this point - but I’m starting to let myself be a little more optimistic. If things are still “flat” by next weekend we may not have the outbreak that west/northeast seem to have had.
Long long way to go on that score.
someone please tell thailand that warm humid weather 'holds down' coronavirus.
