I never supported any of the lockdowns, mask mandates, or any of that other idioticry associated with the left's fear porn regarding COVID. I supported everyone making their own personal assessments on what risk they want to take, and acting accordingly.

Since there was no vaccine and no cure in 2020, I wasn't willing to chance getting this at my age. Too many bad outcomes (including ones which didn't cause hospitalization, such as lung damage) for people over 45. That was reality, and ignoring that reality was just as delusional as people on the left who insisted upon masking 2-year-olds. But I don't care if people are delusional, because it's their own risk.

Even when the vax came out, I was never in the "force people to get vaxxed" camp. Again, it was a personal choice. A look at the hard data shows that people over 45 who chose not to get vaxxed were retards. It also shows that people who got vaxxed and still insisted upon mask/vax mandates were also retards.

The bottom line is that I was in the same room as Delta for 10-12 hours per day during WSOP, and didn't get it. I was in the same house with Omicron this month, and didn't get it. The booster worked. Now people who didn't get the booster are getting it at almost the same rate as the unvaxxed. I pretty much made the right moves almost the entire way.

Although this was not accurate a year ago (earlier coronavirus variants were far more lethal than any influenza strain of the past 100 years), Omicron is comparable in severity to flu.

For Omicron, the risk of death is estimated to be 90% lower than the risk of death from Delta.
