In other news I feel like absolute shit today. Arm is dead and entire body is super sore. I guess Druff would call this a serious adverse reaction. But just going to plow through knowing I will be fine in another day.
I haven't been vaccinated, I've been waiting for Novavax since it seems they're being more thorough. They've finally been approved for emergency use authorization in Indonesia and i assume other countries will follow suit. We'll see if they can manufacture and distribute their vaccine on large scale. I'm not sure I can wait for them, people are getting very complacent and it's getting cold enough for people to seal themselves indoors.
Anyhow should they aspirate when injecting the vaccine? Absolutely. I'm personally going to request they do so.

Also, I had a dead arm and full body soreness after the 2nd shot, but this is much worse. If it is going to progressively get worse like this I am going to need to see some very strong evidence of enhanced efficacy before I take a 4th shot.

Pfizer released their COVID pill, which they claim brings your chance of hospitalization/death down by 89%.
You would take this when you get symptoms, not as a preventative measure like the vaccine.
If this works as advertised, I may choose to forego the next booster. Like Kalam, I had a worse experience with the booster than the 2nd shot, and I'm also concerned the side effects will keep getting worse each time. I can't go through this shit every 6 months, especially since my illness lasts for days.

I've said for a long time that the ultimate COVID solution will lie in a treatment, not a vaccine.
My youngest kid goes to school in Amherst at University of MA. We went out to lunch on Thursday and I picked her up on campus. On a very nice afternoon about half the kids were wearing a mask outside. My kid told me she's just gotten used to it and doesn't care that there is hardly any sickness on the campus. I think this is happening at schools and with kids everywhere. They just get used to it and it becomes normal to them. This cannot be good for our kids. There is no pill or vaccine good enough to stop those who wish to keep our kids faces covered indefinitely. Its so sad to see this happening. What do I know though? Maybe there won't be any long term social issues with the generation of masked children lead to believe their presence in school is a danger to everyone.
Got mine this past week. My arm hurt worse than after the second shot or first shot, but otherwise nothing.
Curious if people here have heard about the Herman Cain Awards on reddit. Basically, people that have posted anti-vax messages on social media are given the award when they pass from Covid. Makes for fascinating, albeit grim, reading.
We are moving to Florida if push comes to shove. Plus I hate the fall and winter.
So, I had my Moderna 50% Booster shot late afternoon on Thursday Nov. 4. My arm started hurting later that evening and the next day it got a bit worse, along with my shoulder area. A couple of days later I was able to run 10 miles, and although my arm hurt, it wasn't any more than that first 2 shots I got. The pain continued on and was really bad yesterday, the worst it has been. It's now a week since the shot and the pain has gotten worse. I can't lift my arm more than about 6 inches from my side without substantial pain. Putting on a shirt is very painful. Rolling over in bed is extremely painful. While I did have some previous discomfort in the area prior to the shot, it was very mild and didn't require medical treatment. Getting a massage tomorrow. Going to doctor next week if it doesn't get better. Any one else have similar issues with the booster?
I haven't taken the 3rd shot and have not yet decided that I will. Mad props for the 10mi run! I haven't run that far in 10 years.
