Here's what they've announced so far:

The WSOP will take place from May 26-July 15.

The Big 50 is returning this year, after getting over 28,000 entries in its inaugural year of 2018. (I finished 666th there, easily cashing for about $3k). The event will have a $500 buyin once again, with 50,000 starting chips and 50-minute levels. Starting flights will be from May 28-May 31. The reentry status is unclear, but presumably there will be at least one reentry per flight. It is also unclear if the first buyin will be rake free again, or if that has been changed.

The Main Event's starting days will be July 1-3. July 4 will be Day 2 for flights A and B, and July 5 will be Day 2 for flight C. July 6 will be Day 3, and it will continue playing every day forward from there, expected to end on July 14. Late registration will be allowed through 6 levels, but that's actually 12 hours into play, because each level is 2 hours. This will allow people to register not just on Day 2, but also during the entire first two hours of Day 2. The buyin will remain $10,000, as it has always been. If you recall, I finished 128th last year, for about $59k, out of 8569 entrants.

The Seniors event, which is for ages 50 and over, will begin on June 18, and will again be a $1,000 buyin.

It will again take place at the Rio, but could move to the new convention center near The LINQ in 2021.

May 26 is the earliest start to the WSOP in more than a decade.

It has not yet been announced when the full schedule will drop.

Norman Chad is NOT happy about Day 2 registration to the Main, even though it also existed last year. (It should be noted that there's 2 additional hours of it this year, though.)

A tweet from the @wsop account this week said it wasn’t planned to offer a rake-free first entry for the Big 50 in 2020.

I’m playing the big 50, second live tournament ever 🤷🏻*♂️

    $10k/$50k event schedule announced: https://www.wsop.com/news/2020/Jan/1...FINALIZED.html

Very similar to last year. They have added one more game to the $50k Poker Players Championship -- NL 2-7 single draw. There is also a new $10k NL Holdem online event, taking place at the same time as Day 1B of the Main Event. Presumably this is aimed at people who just busted from Day 1A or Day 1B of the Main.

In total, there are 17 $10k/$50k events including the Main Event, which was already announced earlier.

    $1000 and below events posted

    https://www.wsop.com/news/2020/Jan/1...OLIDIFIED.html

Most of these have only one rebuy allowed, and some have zero.

The WSOP, ever-sensitive to social media pressure, has decided to tone down the unlimited rebuy thing, though it's still available on some events. Plus they aren't budging on very late registration, which bothers me more.

The freezeout format -- allowing only one entry -- is part of a concerted effort by the WSOP in 2020. The opening event, plus at least one No-Limit Hold’em event a week in this format is planned for the rest of the series. The WSOP is committed to keeping a significant portion of the schedule utilizing the freezeout format.

Why are they putting out the schedule in bits and pieces over several different days? I don't mind when they put out the starting date with the main event date and list a couple different new events on the first announcement. But this is getting ridiculous. They still do not have the full schedule out with the structure sheets. I would rather they put the whole thing out at once and be done with it.

And here's some more events added:

    https://www.wsop.com/news/2020/Jan/1...-SCHEDULE.html

This include some 10k+ events which weren't on the previous 10k+ event schedule released 2 weeks ago. Confused yet?

There's also a number of "Freezout NL" events on the schedule, along with a new Mystery Bounty event, which is kinda Amaya-Pokerstars-like, as it has a random bonus feature to it. All of the bounties are $100, EXCEPT 99+ bounties will be $2500 or more, with at least one bounty being $250,000. So basically you're trying to knock people out and pray. The buyin is $1500 and it's on June 28.

12 more events were announced today total.

Still missing are most of the limit/mix events.

Still missing some events, such as the $3000 and $5000 buyin ones.

A good way to know the WSOP schedule is complete is when they’ve numbered all of the events on the schedule.

I assume there’s going to be two more schedule updates - one with the remaining live events and the other announcing the online schedule.

    Full schedule posted. https://wsop.com/tournaments

Also general overview of the WSOP and some minor changes announced for this year: https://www.wsop.com/news/2020/Feb/1...NTHS-AWAY.html

Some bullshit about kiosks and online registration, but I still feel this is only useful if you don't have a Diamond card. Otherwise registering live in the Diamond room is a better idea.

looking at what's posted so far I see a frustrating lack of real information, other than the bare schedule. I can't find any structure guides, for instance.
As far as registration goes, there doesn't really seem to be anything new except for some smoke and mirrors. The lines to stand in will be in different rooms. There will be a new line you can stand in to talk about registration problems. You can't register from that line, but you can bitch and moan to someone about how messed up it is.
You STILL have to go to the main area at least once to verify your credit card.
I'm glad I got Diamond status through the status matching method for $95. That should eliminate some of the madness.

Considering playing one event this year. I think Im considering $500 Freezeout, Mini-Main Event, or The Milly Maker. Any thoughts on the best tournament to take a shot in $1500 or less?

    Monster Stack has good value.
