    Best stand alone internet service

Ok so I am in the market for a REAL internet service because I am getting rid of this garbage Hotspot on my phone. Want best bang for the buck obv, but have no clue who to go with as I haven't had a real connection in years.

    Give me some options.

I have Comcast and while I have heard plenty of bitching about them I can say i have had no real problems with very few outages and the couple of outages that I did have were generally due to thunderstorms and not shitty service. I get the 20MB/s for like 40 a month total and I am pretty happy with it.

On the other hand, motherfuck AT&T.

I have Charter and the internet is top top but the HD tv sucks ass. My speed is consistently 50% faster than what I actually pay for.

Not sure how much different it is in usa, but in Canada the best providers are always the local small third party one's. Most of the big providers artificially keep high prices by agreeing not to get below a certain price level. Third parties can under cut even though they often use the same infrastruture. Its kinda like getting large rakeback from a smaller skin in poker without having the risk.

    What are your choices?

Can you choose between fiber and cable?

    Is Hotspot a DSL service?

Fiber may be the way to go. Chances are good that the fiber infrastructure is newer than Cable. Cable was probably installed in the 80's. Fiber probably in the last 10 years. More speed with fiber.

Our town was just wired for fiber but they haven't started hooking anything up yet. I have Charter cable. They don't care about their customers at all.
