Thank a Veteran or Servicemember Today

Part of the reason you degens can live in a free society is because it's been defended with the hard work, bravery and sacrifice of millions of veterans. You don't have to agree with every time and every place they've been sent to fight, and I haven't, but I hope all of you will recognize what they've done and continue to do for us.

Davidee might actually have a boomer point here.

A boomer might appreciate the troops who returned from WWII

But no one held a parade for Vietnam vets cause what exactly did they do for us? I feel terrible for them. The incredible waste of lives and futures.

Sinful waste that I hope guys like Truman, Kennedy and Johnson are burning in Hell for. Napalm like burning.

Am I proud of their accomplishments like carpet bombing civilians or jungle wildlife? Did what they were told. Sad

Yeah, that’s a boomer sentiment. Doesn’t make you a bad guy

You can rinse and repeat for the last 40 years in the Middle East. Lotta well meaning kids signed up following 9/11 to carry out Cheney’s will. I feel pity more than pride. It goes on and on

Yeah, that’s a boomer sentiment. Well meaning but out of step

BCR: I’m right with you except I’m down with Vietnam vets. More people have died following 9/11 falling out of bed than this gulf war nonsense.

I have a special regard for the Vietnam vets as they didn’t volunteer. Fucking criminal their ordeal.

It’s all a load of shit though. If America gave an actual crap we would treat them better as a government. We don’t. I wouldn’t take my car for service at the Veterans Hospitals in Mass. shit holes

It’s all just publicity. Remind yourself that the flyovers, flags and all that horseshit at NFL events for instance is paid promotion.

Do CIA operatives get a parade? They are usually first in.

World War I formally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of 11th month in year 1918. 1 year later, America observed Armistice Day which in 1954 became Veterans Day. We honor and commemorate all who selflessly served our great nation to protect our freedoms.

Watch Ken burns series on Vietnam. Truly eye opening.

The gravamen is that everyone was lied to, repeatedly, and at all levels of government starting at the top.

Uh I disagree. They signed up to make sure that they or their kids wont have to experience what I had to experience on that day and the days following it. You might say things like wrong country was invaded but their motive was clear.

I'm thinking you may have taken some things he said out of context

(I could be wrong though, but that is what I've deciphered thus far)
