I watched some of the cheating and read the first half of the chat transcripts. It's very interesting and definitely credible.
Cliffs:
Someone developed software that is basically a bot that requires a human to sit there and click the buttons. They recruited a team of Bulgarian players and staked them all. The guy who made the video used to be on the team.
The software requires two separate computers. The screen from the computer they play on is mirrored on the second computer using some sort of hdmi splitter that can't be detected. The second computer uses OCR (optical character recognition) to analyze each hand and display the play to make. It even decides your frequencies for you to balance ranges. For example if you're in a spot that you should be bluffing 10% of the time, there will be a 10% chance it tells you to bluff. For 'reg battles' they were constantly tweaking the bot so that the bot would have different parameters for each reg. Goal was to scare off the regs they had smaller edges against so that they had all the fish to themself.
Microgaming responded in the 4 thread with a link to stats on all the bots they've detected, how they were caught, and how much money was confiscated and returned to players for the past few years, pretty interesting: https://mpn.poker/show-us-your-stats/
The second half of the video is a ton of private chat screen shots between the former team member and the developer discussing strategies and debugging the software.
aight got how they did it...
was really confused when they started talking about 'war', the Russians, etc...makes a little more sense now...
