I’m always dunking on Kershaw but we must remember he is very very rich and is a nice guy.

The Athletic did a nice eulogy, I’m told.

Crowe would you do another favor and spoiler the article? I haven’t forgotten “Prohibition baseball: Inside the biggest All-Star Game no one watched”

    TIA

Tomorrow will be the last MLB doubleheader. Savor it.

I've gotten used to this. Every season it seems the Dodgers eventually lose to a really hot team, and they're just the really good team which isn't particularly hot at the moment.

They've lost to the eventual champion for each of the last 4 seasons (though honestly they were cheated twice along the way), and now this might be the 5th in a row.

The bullpen turned out to be a problem. There's not a single guy out of that pen whom you can count on to get outs. This is why we're getting too much Victor Gonzalez and Brusdal Graterol in the NLCS against a tough, hot team.

One thing does irk me, though. Dallas apparently houses a lot more Braves fans than Dodgers fans, so it's like the entire series is being played in Atlanta. This whole bubble thing is dumb. Just create a bubble for each ballpark. Don't force it all into one supposedly neutral location. How sick is it that fans are allowed, yet the Dodgers can't play in their own fucking stadium?

Oh, here we go. Before the season you said you didn't wanna win, then you got excited for a WS victory, and now you're prepping for your "I didn't want to win this unfair compeition anyway" stance.

The Dodgers are built for the regular season. There is a difference between winning games and winning championships. Eight failed seasons in a row isn’t “bad luck”. Here’s how to bring a championship to LA: Pay 10 million to Bruce Bochy, and stay the fuck out of his way. It’s only partially Roberts fault. He has to justify every “unorthodox” move to the sabermetrircs guys upstairs.

Hiring Bochy would have the added bonus of driving Giants fans insane. He wants to get back in the game.

Ahh, the “hot team” complaint. It’s that time of year. Can you believe the bad luck, Mabel?

Braves were at least every bit as good as the Dodgers this year. They don’t get the gay, fawning LA centric west coast media. NYY gets a lot of press too but it’s a nastier, more critical coverage consistent with the hard edge East Coast sports fan base. It’s why we hate the over rated Dodgers. The ball washing is nauseating. Devoid of all self criticism.

In fairness, and more accurately, Todd does acknowledge the real problem. Bullpen. The Dodgers NEVER EVER make a trade deadline move. The bullpen has always been their problem. “ Interestingly, bullpen importance grows each year. I mean, to teams other than the Dodgers.

Walker Buehler was slated to come in to close after Graterol/Treinen . Drops mic.

I was listening to LA570AM postgame. I remember the Red Sox sports talk before 2004. If you are a fan of radio, as I was, that was the height of the sports talk genre. The pain. The anger. The level of knowledge demonstrated by the fans was unsurpassed. The radio hosts were so funny. You had to laugh it was so painful. The level of LA knowledge last night was pitiful. I suspect part of that is the elite fans don’t take to radio like they used to. The pain was there. Glorious.

In the end, I suspect Druff is representative of a good portion of Dodgers fans. Blaming luck, circumstance, cheating, hot teams, the weather. Cubs/Red Sox fans would be marching toward the stadium with burning crosses and pitchforks looking to mess up the management. That’s the fun stuff.

You are denying one of the best parts of being a fan of a cursed team, Druff. The hate.

I think we can all now move on from the Kershaw argument. The numbers don’t lie.... and there are a lot of numbers collected to date. Nice player. Hardly the GOAT

2019 Astros. One of the greatest rotations in history btw. Verlander, Cole, Grienke, Miley, Sanchez. Thefuckouttaherewiththatstuff. Friedman knew and ignored the sign stealing.

I thought that a big moment would involve Will Smith versus Will Smith. I should have posted that. instead I just thought it.

    And it happened.

Dodgers bullpen needs to do the impossible tonight and not screw up.

The Braves bias in that crowd (regardless of which team is at "home") is super tilting. What a dumb setup this whole thing is. Have fans in the stands and play at a neutral site? WHY???

Ok I’m going to just put the tinfoil baseball
Cap on. Come on seriously both teams with basically insurmountable leads are now potentially gonna get knocked out. Tampa up 3-0
Loses 3 straight winner take all tonight. Atlanta up 3-1 on the Dodgers and now it’s going same tomorrow night. One series I’ll buy but both?? I call bullshit. MLB wants a rematch of 2017 for revenue reasons and ratings. I can assure you if it is LA and The Cheatros I won’t be watching one minute of it. Something just reeks in This whole situation I don’t care what anybody says.

It’s all about $$$ Dan. They have zero fans in San Diego for the ALCS. They had to pick a location where the govt didn’t have everything shut down totally. You think that’s tilting wait till they succeed in shoving Houston through tonight and the WS is decidedly a pro Cheatros crowd since it’s going to be just up the road in Arlington Tx from Houston.

I can’t decide if MLBs end game is to give the Dodgers the title they should’ve had in 2017 due to Houston’s cheating or they’re trying to somehow claim see the pitch cheating was overblown Houston still beat LA again fair and square. Either way it stinks like a NYC Garbage barge.

I take back what I said about Buehler in this thread. He has been a playoff baller. He got in trouble and he trusted his stuff and just jammed fastballs against the fastball crushing Braves and beat them. 100 pitches in a clutch situation.

Buehler is a big game pitcher. He has a portfolio now of 4 or more such performances.

Mookie has saved their bacon too. What an un-Dodger-like signing. I must admit it hurts to see this.

    Been a great series.

Dodgers are probably out 4-1 yesterday if Ozuna didn't leave 3rd base too early. That ended the inning, erased a run from the board, killed a rally, and changed the momentum.

    Now it's 3-3. What a difference 20 hours make.

We will see if Gonsolin can make up for his bad performance last time out. Pretty amazing that Game 7 hangs on the shoulders of 2 rookies (the other being Ian Anderson), but here we are.

    Cool

We who Bet the Braves for series at +180 are not feeling to thrilled right now..
Shmendricks blew this Series due to Lack of Basic base running skills.
Good Luck Druff Vs TB. Dodgers be the Dogs. imo.

That was a hell of a catch by Mookie though. That gets by him, series over.

The baserunning error by the Braves with 2nd and 3rd no out was bigger.

Turned into man at 1st 2 out, instead of 2nd and 3rd with one out, so that was a massive rally killer.

That could have been a game ending inning.

Bellinger hit that so hard that he just started slowly walking right after hitting it.

He hit it moments after one of the broadcasters said, "He's struggled in the postseason, but he can change all of this with one swing."

6 more outs. But who's going to get them? Kenley Jansen?
