Cody Bellinger is now 5-for-31 with 0 HR and just one extra base hit. On the bright side, he's only whiffed 4 times, so some of this is probably bad luck.

Still, collectively they're hitting slightly over .100 with 1 HR and 1 double between them. Wow.
Yep and Acuna is 4-for-28 with 14Ks! That’s 3 of the top 5 in NL MVP last year.

Also Kris Bryant is 2-22 with 10Ks.
You know who is doing well? Giancarlo Stanton. This ties in with the Eric Cressey Fight Club baseball story in Palm Beach. Stanton’s body was reinvented.

The Yankees these past 2 or 3 years have had spectacular numbers of injuries. Literally the entire starting roster on opening day would be on IR. The positive news was they were so god damned deep with talent it almost didn’t matter.

The Yankees just hired Eric Cressey to redo their training program. Stanton is the earliest tangible result.

    Interesting.

the NFL is FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED if they don't quickly figure something out...business as usual ain't happenin...

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/...ng-coronavirus

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred told MLB Players Association executive director Tony Clark on Friday that if the sport doesn't do a better job of managing the coronavirus, it could shut down for the season, sources familiar with the conversation told ESPN.

The league and players recognize the coming days are a critical juncture following an outbreak among the Miami Marlins in which 21 members of the organization have tested positive for COVID-19. Two positive tests by St. Louis Cardinals players on Friday exacerbated concerns inside the sport about the presence of the coronavirus and whether the jointly agreed-upon protocols are being followed properly to prevent outbreaks similar to Miami's.

Should another outbreak materialize, Manfred, who has the power to shut down the season, could move in that direction. Multiple players briefed on the call fear the season could be shut down as soon as Monday if positive tests jump or if players continue not to strictly abide by the league's protocols.

State and local governments have pressured baseball about players skirting the mandates outlined in the league's 113-page operations manual, sources told ESPN. Broadcasts that have shown players high-fiving, spitting and not wearing masks have left government officials wondering how seriously players are taking the protocols, sources said.

Further, there is concern about off-the-field choices, with one high-ranking official saying: "There are some bad decisions being made."

The Cardinals' game against the Milwaukee Brewers was postponed Friday and rescheduled to a doubleheader Sunday. Already, the Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies, who last played Miami on Sunday, were missing scheduled games, leaving 20% of the league's Friday slate empty.

Major League Baseball and the MLBPA on Friday jointly announced the results of COVID-19 testing through Thursday. Of the 11,895 samples taken over the past week, there were 29 positive tests -- 20 by players and nine by staff members.

you let the NFL guys "loose" there is 0.0% chance that there aren't multiple guys who aren't gonna try to get some pussy...can't blame 'em, i'd be doing the same thing if i were in my 20s, but that shit ain't gonna fly in this situation..

Damn, I've been into baseball this year for the first time since 2016 Cubs.

Ever been to Phoenix in the summer? It’s like 110 degrees for 3 straight months! Workouts would be problematic to say the least.

true, true...but outside of florida there ain't anywhere else you're gonna get that concentration of baseball fields...although if you really wanted to get around it you probably only need 8 fields playing 2 games a day...might be able to go elsewhere, but the fields would definitely not be major league quality...

Still, at least I enjoyed him being a one-man wrecking crew against the worst Astros cheaters, especially that arrogant fucker Correa.
Yeah.... that would be your take on the whole Astros episode.

Trevor Bauer pitching today. Love that fucking kid. Remember him throwing the ball over the outfield fence before Tito Franconia pulled him out of a game... then traded him?

Getting back to Bauer. Remember Bauer tweeting about the Astros before the cheating scandal became public? I mean public like you and me. EVERYONE else knew. Remember the stories of Andrew Friedman being told that the Astros were cheating and he took no action.. Yeah, we call that selective forgetting.

Ironically, I recall one of Bauer’s tweets involved him going out to play poker that night. He made some kinda joke that he had a device under his shirt. He made a video of him pulling down his shirt. It was an inside joke aimed at those that knew, including Andrew “the dope” Friedman.

Being willfully stupid is the worse crime here.

Joe Kelly is an awful baseball player and his anger at the world is just acting out. 8 games would be a Dodgers blessing

Alex Wood, who pitched well in Houston, was the only Dodger to take the reports of cheating seriously in 2017. He changed his signs every inning, and was assumed to be "paranoid" at the time.

Did you see Tattis screwing with Seager (baserunner) on second base? Last night

Seager was stealing signs and Tattis ran in front of him and stared at him. Tattis started circling Seager. It was funny.

I’m sure there is some video out there

Seager was doing nothing wrong, it’s important to say.

Tattis and Machado have edge and the rivalry someday will be good.

Anyone know where I can find the best line that this season gets cancelled?

I'm having a difficult time taking it seriously right now with several teams having players getting covid cancelling games everywhere.

When can they find time to make up an entire series of games and how deep will a team be in backlog with games needed to play, or how many more mass infections before they finally call it?

Mulva, I know you have always keyed on the Cleveland pitching development machine. Kluber was when & where you became a baseball god with me.

    James Karinchak son.

I know a couple kids who played with him at RI college. Kid is a an ADD spectacle. They predicted the pros are gonna hate him cause he’s a pure ‘tard.

They were wrong. The Indians pitching staff love him. So far. The great kids are usually cool and laconic. You can’t get too high or too low or you will burn out. Karinchak is a spazz. Annoyed the others in college. Watch him flipping the ball around from hand to hand. He’s always done that. Screaming at himself even when he does great.

He’s got that pure crackhead energy that I find so very appealing

Help yourself to some Tattis as the Padres play Dodgers.

He’s another one I can’t get enough of. Manny Machado gives up shortstop cause he knows. Machado is a cocky fuck but he’s not stupid.

Tattis really has no peer as an athlete except maybe Trout and Ohtani. The unique difference is he has attitude.

Kid is so big but is head and shoulders above guys like Xander and Seager.

I predict again, the Dodgers might actually have a problem in San Diego in terms of a sorta East Coast hate kinda rivalry. Most of the Dodgers except for Kelly and Buehler are fags but I still harbor hope for fireworks.

I like the goofy May kid. Gingergaard. I’d be less than honest if I didn’t come clean there.

Gonna put this out there in my attempt to educate yung Druff. Mookie Betts is THE BEST SIGNING THE DODGERS EVERY MADE. mic drop.

Charlie Blackmon is hitting .472 through 18 games. He was hitting .500 until today when he went 0-4.

If he hits .400, will this be respected as an actual .400 season? I wouldn't respect it. It's MUCH harder to hit .400 through 162 games than 60.

Tony Gwynn, who might have done it in 1994 had there not been a strike (he hit .394), said he didn't think he would have made it. "It's just too damn hard," he said.

Nobody regards it as anything more than what it is. It is fun.

Jon Lester. What an animal. How many more rings would Sawks have if they didn’t display false economy with contracts back then.

Dodgers’ reliever Graterol is filthy good.

    Perspective:
He’s not Karinchak but he has a live arm.
