Haven't had Oreos for years and had a few today. I remember the cookies were soft, not chewy but they had some crumb to them. These Oreos, the cookies were flatter and crunchy. Is it my imagination or have Oreos changed? If so they changed for the worse.

I really like Oreos though. If the originals are soft, it's because they've been open for too long or someone licked them and then put them back together without eating the center.
Years ago when it was limited edition, I once ate a whole package of marshmellow oreos. couldnt stop. I still think about it whenever I pass the oreos in the grocery store as one of the worst and greatest nights of my life

Serious business, but now that I have a kid, I eat some of the crap he enjoys, like Oreos, Mother Circus Cookies, M&Ms, Nestle Crunch, etc...
Maybe my palette has changed, but none of that stuff tastes as good as it used to when I was growing up. I'm almost sure they are just finding shittier and shittier quality ingredients or chemical shortcuts and then they say "New and Improved" but it's really just shit.
Same goes for Breyers Ice Cream... I don't even think they call it ice cream anymore, it's like frozen dairy desert or some bullshit because they don't actually use cream.
Really grinds my gears.
I believe Nabisco took hydrogenated vegetable oil outta their recipes. That could be the culprit.
I had a similar issue with Ritz Crackers. When they took out HVO, the crackers turned into a crumbly, inedible mess. Break at the first application of a spread.
Bring back trans fats and beef tallow!
