This is once again a case of the left initially meaning well and then going completely off the rails.
It started with, "Transsexual people are often discriminated against, and are also often victims of violence, and we need to protect them from this."
Then it evolved into the bathroom debate.
Then it evolved into there being 52 genders, and the laughable claim that gender is just a social construct.
Then it evolved into, "We need to show respect for teens with gender dysphoria who wish to transition and already want to live as the opposite gender."
Then it evolved into, "Every person on the 52 gender spectrum has their preferred pronouns, and we need to make sure to always know and refer to those pronouns correctly for each person, or otherwise we are committing a hate crime."
Then it evolved into, "Young children who feel they're the opposite gender to what they were born should have the option to get on puberty blockers, so it's easier to physically transition once they're teens and adults."
Then it evolved into, "If a mom brainwashes her 7-year-old boy into thinking he's a girl, the father is powerless to stop her from putting the child on puberty blockers."
And that's where we are today.
And I actually feel sorry for the old school transsexuals who simply wanted to quietly transition to the opposite sex, and try to live normally without making a political statement out of it. Now they're lumped in with all of this craziness.
The left is actually pandering to all of this, as seen by the preferred pronouns being listed on the Twitter accounts of major Presidential candidates (even though these people aren't trans, nor is there any question about their gender identity).
Then the swing voter thinks all of this is insane, Trump beats them, and they accuse America of being racist.
