I actually agree with the person posting on her Congressional account. Katie is not a victim. I do believe she was in a bad marriage, and probably pressured by her husband to get involved in some of this freaky sex stuff. However, she's an adult, she was a Congresswoman, she went along with her husband's wishes, and she apparently banged TWO different staffers in an 6-month period (one male, one female).
It's pretty sad that she thinks she's held to a different standard in a situation like this simply because she's female.

This is a fascinating story from several angles. It's not just one of hypocrisy.
While there have been sex scandals on the right, as well as hypocrisy, there hasn't quite been one like this from either party. It means relatively little politically, but it's interesting.
She also represents Simi Valley and Santa Clarita -- two areas of which I have a lot of personal familiarity and history. That also makes it more interesting to me.

I don't disagree that she's a victim and a perpetrator. But that doesn't make her a victim overall in the situation.
Her pervert ex-husband can't be blamed for Katie's choice of her own female campaign worker to have a sexual relationship with, and he especially can't be blamed for her subsequent dumping of both him and the girl so she could have an (illegal) relationship with a male in her office.
She was pressured to resign because she had TWO separate sexual relationships with underlings in an 6-month period, one of which was illegal. She lost her position because of her own bad choices, not because she was female. She is in no way a hero to anyone.
However, without the political career she was expecting to sustain her through life, now she has become a professional victim, and is milking the whole thing quite well.
It is reassuring to know that you consider any story involving lesbianism with fascination, from several angles.

As I said in my earlier posts on the matter, I think she was both a victim and a perpetrator in this entire situation. She's been pushing just the "victim" narrative -- as if none of this stuff is her fault, and as if she got screwed somehow by the right wing media.
That's not true. She chose to have two affairs with staffers/assistants, within an 18 month period. One of those was actually illegal. She resigned so she didn't have to face the music for all of this.
At the same time, she was indeed a victim regarding the revenge porn, spread via her trashy husband. She didn't deserve that part. I can understand how it was very frustrating to her to have those pictures displayed to the public by major publications. At the same time, she's not just an average person -- she was a Congresswoman who was (legitimately) accused of impropriety, and these pictures were proof of it. Therefore, it can also be said that it was in the public interest for these pictures to be published. For example, without the pictures, she could have claimed that the woman from her office was simply hanging out with her, and they weren't in any kind of sexual relationship.
It might be helpful to set some kind of standard regarding what is appropriate to publish, when it comes to "revenge porn" type photos of a public official. I don't think we've seen such a thing occur before, aside perhaps Anthony Weiner, but that was a different situation because these were naked pics he was sending to relative strangers.
The ruling was probably correct, though, given her status as a public official, and given that they really were depicting her engaging in an affair with an underling.

There were a lot of photos posted, but I think it was her perv husband. These were on swingers subreddits and the posts very much look like they came from a male. It's not even clear if she knew about it, or if he just did it. As I said, I don't think she deserved the revenge porn, but at the same time, since it depicts inappropraite behavior on her part (a sexual affair with an underling), I don't think she should be able to sue publications for exposing them. This type of stuff comes along with being a public servant. Many people stay out of that life specifically because they don't want the spotlight on their every word and action.
