Also you gotta admit that "#WifenSwappenSS" was funny, in reference to the Nazi-associated cross she had as a tattoo.

She did apologize and admit what she did was wrong when she first addressed the situation.

I think she's getting a lot more shit than she should, especially from the the SJWW crowd. She quickly resigned when the news broke , apologized, and admitted what she did was wrong. If she wants to do some op eds and interviews and probably write a book or something I'm fine with that.
Meanwhile Duncan Hill gets indicted on "60 counts of wire fraud, falsifying records, campaign finance violations, and conspiracy." 3 months before the the midterms. Obviously he runs anyway and wins (!) and then sticks around for another year + and only then resigns because he wasn't allowed to vote anymore after officially being a convicted felon.
And there was another republican that got indicted before the election (insider trading I think), ran anyway and won, and the just recently had to resign after changing his plea to guilty.
Haven't seen anywhere near the outrage regarding either of those guys.

So when are her un-edited photos going to hit PornHub?
I think you're missing my point.
I don't feel she needs to go on an endless apology tour. Had she resigned and just gone away quietly, I'd be fine with that.
The problem is that she's now trying to ride the "I'm a victim" train to her next career (public speaker?), which is why she keeps popping back up over and over with various "omg look how badly I was exploited" statements.
This most recent op-ed in the NY Times was long and detailed. Surely she could have taken a few sentences there to apologize and reiterate that employer/employee sexual relationships are wrong, especially in Congress.
Absent from this piece is any real form of personal responsibility. We get an overly detailed walkthrough of her attempts to cut her wrists in the bathtub, but oddly not a single mention of the fresh-out-of-college female staffer that she and her husband exploited for sexual thrills, and no look into her mindset which caused these bad decisions on her part.
Instead, we are supposed to walk away from the piece with the belief that big, bad, mean people were victimizing poor Katie, and that was the reason her career ended. Not because of a series of awful decisions unbefitting of a Congresswoman, but only because of her vindictive husband and nasty right wing media.
I guess she feels this is what she needs to do in order to get the SJW crowd fired up enough to where she can support herself as Professional Victim (see Sarkeesian, Anita), but it's really off-putting how she just won't take responsibility for anything, yet she also won't go away.
Also, this isn't really a classic case of revenge porn.
If her husband simply leaked nudes or sexual photos of her after their divorce, that would have been revenge porn, and I'd agree she was a victim.
Here the "revenge porn" was actually photographic evidence of her engaging in inappropriate behavior (having a sexual relationship with an underling), so it was far more than just, "Hey everyone, check out Katie Hill nude!"
In fact, apparently there were far dirtier and explicit pics obtained by RedState ad Daily Mail, but both publications had the decency to refuse to publish those, and instead they only published the tamer ones which still got the point across.
I have a hard time feeling that sorry for a member of Congress whose sexual trysts with underlings end up as salacious photos on the internet. They should know better than do this in the first place.
I really don't buy it that you are pissed because someone hooked up with a member or their staff who was 10 years younger and then didn't apologize enough or accept full responsibility for their actions.
I think you really just like pointing out anytime it comes to your attention that a LGBT Liberal Female did something stupid or wrong. Kate Hall, Vanessa Selbst, Vanessa Ruosso, Those lesbians that drove their car off the cliff, The ones with the fisting art in the library, the Lesbian Astronauts...
She's not the victim of anything.
She should just go away but we all know she can't because she needs to make $ to live the lifestyle she wanted by being in Congress.

Regarding the various lesbian-related stories out here, I'm not out there looking for them. I just have found that a lot of them were interesting stories in themselves. As you've seen, I've posted plenty of critical stories about dudes, and in fact most of my critical posts on this forum (about people who aren't PFA members) are about men. Go look for yourself.
BUMP
Republican Mike Garcia smashed the special election by 12 points.
He will finish out Katie's term, but will go up against the same opponent in November, and likely win again.
So much for the idea that the voters were unhappy with Republican treatment of Katie!
The relentless MSM media campaign is really starting to backfire for the Dems. According to a CNN poll Trump is way ahead at the moment in the battleground states. CNN is really torpedoing Joe Biden, they are not even pretending to be unbiased anymore. Their anchors and management are downright hostile to anything Trump, and like I said its backfiring. Add in the fact Biden is terrified to leave his basement, I would not be surprised to see a Trump landslide in November. Nobody wants a pussy to be President.
There he is, Mr Profound. Always adding to the convo.
Seriously, I don't get why he even posts.
I also don't get what point tgull is making here, (please don't quote him)
like did he wake up today and decide he has a problem w/biased news, or something?
And like CNN could ever compare to Fox in that department.
If you are saying a guy wearing a mask is a pussy. then sign me up.
I want a boring President that believes in science and the rule of law.
No one so bad at organization, the post office might not survive his Presidency.
If that is asking too much or makes me a pussy. oh well.

Find me a real news interview w/a North Korean "hard Ball" question like that. (The quotes are sarcasm.)

San Francisco crowned the ‘world’s best’ city to live: survey

Cenk Uygar may have gotten crushed in the Dem primary for this special election, but his exposure of the Dem Party golden girl as a stooge for corporations probably sank the turnout among non-white folks in here district, which was down about 50% from the turnout for Katie Hill in 2018.
That's not correct at all. Cenk was a carpetbagger who made a fool of himself and got crushed.
The left is claiming that Christie Smith lost because she was against Medicare For All. It's just ridiculous. They're trying to shame any moderate Democrat who loses, and putting forth the inaccurate message that they weren't left enough.
You don't run far left in a purple district if you don't want to get crushed.
The Democrats I see opining about the reasons Christy Smith lost are ones who have little-to-no knowledge of that area of California. They look like morons when trying to characterize the voters there, while having no clue what they're talking about.
Mike Garcia won (and will win again) for several reasons:
1) He was the better candidate with a good resume
2) He was Hispanic
3) The district is more red than blue, and Katie Hill was more of an anomaly who managed to overperform
4) Voters were irritated with Katie Hill and some voted Republican as part of the backlash
I have spent substantial time in 2 of the 3 areas of this district (Simi Valley and Santa Clarita), and know it well.
Time to give it up, Mumbles. Cenk got his ass handed to him, and the Democrats aren't going to take back that seat for awhile.
The good news for you is that this was a unique situation, and isn't indicative of what will happen in other elections. I'd love to believe this was the beginning of a red wave, but I know it really means nothing.
Christy Smith looks good for age 51, I'll give her that.
That district has more registered Democrats than Republicans, albeit by a relatively small margin, but the reliable voters tend to be conservatives even if they may no longer be registered as Republicans.
But let’s look at the results from the two most recent elections to see how your theory that García was such a popular candidate versus the alternate theory that Christy Smith was exposed as a corporatist shill and turned off many voters who came to vote for Katie Hill in 2018.
2018 election[49]
Party Candidate Votes %
Democratic Katie Hill 133,209 54.4
Republican Steve Knight (Incumbent) 111,813 45.6
Total votes 245,022 100.
2020 California's 25th congressional district special election runoff, May 12.[1]
Party Candidate Votes % ±
Republican Mike Garcia 95,426 54.9% +9.3%
Democratic Christy Smith 78,442 45.1% -9.3%
Total votes 173,868 100%
2020 votes/2018 votes
Republican: 95,426/111,813 = 0.853, or 85.3%
Democrat: 78,442/133,209 = 0.589, or 58.9%
In other words, according to you, about 45,000 people who voted for Hill in 2020 either voted for García because he was a better candidate or to spite the Democrats because of the stupid behavior of a single member of the House they had previously supported, or sat out the election for either reason, and NOT because Smith did not run on the Progressive policies that helped propel Christie Hill to an upset victory in a purple district?
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/15/o...democrats.htmL
(Psst! In 2018, progressive candidates championing such Medicare-for-all tended to win in purple districts with Republican incumbents, which DESTROYS your argument that such a policy can’t be appealing in a purple district.)
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/...ie-porter.html
Oh, and because you have supposedly spent a lot of time in that district this past year, you have the inside scoop on why a sizable number of those 45,000 MIA Hill voters didn’t vote for Smith? How good is your Spanish, bro, because turnout among Hispanics, who significantly helped propel Hill to win in 2018, was way down in this election versus in 2018 despite García being all Hispanicy and a supposedly more attractive candidate to those homies. Perhaps you have Chico Loco sit down with those folks to get them to open up.
Mumbles, you don't understand that district. You just don't.
Medicare For All isn't the type of thing which would be popular there. This is a district which wants jobs (even before the COVID-19 crisis) and the ability to take care of themselves. They don't want handouts. They don't want to cede control of their healthcare to the government. If Democrats think that socialized medicine is their key to winning and holding purple districts, they're in for a rude surprise in places like this.
Yes, there was a big backlash over what happened with Hill. She never once apologized, never once took real responsibility for what happened, and instead has become a professional victim, blaming the entire thing on her ex-husband and the Republican Party.
Additionally, fellow Democrats went along with it. Very few stepped forward to condemn Hill and her blame-shifting. While this will have little consequence outside of the district (because it's a minor story nationally, especially since COVID-19 has dwarfed everything), within this district it left a bad taste in many people's mouths. The message from Hill and her fellow Democrats was loud and clear: Katie didn't really do anything wrong, it's all everyone else's fault that she had to resign.
Had Katie quickly and directly apologized for everything, and stayed away from blaming Republicans, voters might have had some understanding, especially if she further explained that she was in a bad marriage and that led to some destructive behaviors.
However, that's not how she handled it, presumably so she could parlay this into a career of being an anti-revenge-porn activist, or whatever she thinks she's going to do next.
Katie won because she was charismatic and seemed to have enthusiasm and fresh ideas. She didn't come off as too far left. She was relatable, and her story of rising from waitress to congressional candidate was inspiring. That all went out the window when she had sexual relationships with two different subordinates in a short period of time.
District 25 was likely to go back red, and it was even more likely because the Republicans had the better candidate who also drew some extra Hispanic votes because he's one of them.
Time to give up, Mumbles. This district stays red in November. But as I said, the good news for you is that this one is an isolated case, and won't affect other races.
