    Paddy Power & Stars combine

    Source: https://www.ft.com/content/3d43e34c-...3-db5a370481bc

Druff, feel free to edit as I don’t know much about this.

It appears that the company Flutter, a parent company of Paddy Power is buying Pokerstars?

    Flutter also owns Fanduel.

This seems to have more to do with sports betting than it does with poker.

Could this be the decline of pokerstars?

I don’t think so in fact the bad actor clause just became mute regarding POkerstars now with it being run and owned by FanDuel who has its fingers in a bunch of states and licensed for gaming in several states. This might just have been the sneak in the backdoor needed to get Online Poker legalized with a multistate licensed compact type situation. It’s already been seen the NV-NJ-DE tristate is a fail but with a legal multi state online operation in place and likely some powerful friends in those states and the ability to add even more tax revenue just might be the impetus. If anything it might be bad news for Paddy Power because it’s a much smaller entity as far as poker sites. Consider this now you have a company with a massive sports betting and DFS operation. Paddy Power while small on poker does have a foot in the door running online casino type games and Pokerstars is the premier poker site worldwide. It’s a hell of a potential monster as a one stop shop for online gaming services possibly.
