I don't think Owen Hughes is an attorney, definitely not California-licensed.
Per the government's Complaint against Hughes, "Hughes was the sole proprietor of Eon Research Corporation, a for-profit research entity located in Davis, California, and operating in the biotechnology field."
Portanova is definitely an attorney and definitely Hughes' attorney.
Thanks for the update Haley and posting the link.
just wanted to say you do fantastic work and most certainly a huge plus point for this website ,
From one user at least it is very much appreciated
Evert Caldwell, owner of RounderLife, released an idiotic article in response to Haley's piece:
https://www.rounderlife.com/haley-hintze-misreported/
Like all of the RounderLife articles about Postle, it focuses on inconsequential minutiae, obsessing over small details and avoiding discussing the main issues at hand. In this case, it laughably accuses Haley of altering the document herself (lol), and tries to make the case that roundermagpro@gmail.com "isn't an official Rounder Life" e-mail, so therefore it doesn't mean Postle is associated with them.
As if Postle would still be using that e-mail address in 2020 if he hasn't had anything to do with Rounder Life in over a decade. Puh-leeze.
The article also obsesses over the accusation that Postle cheated cancer patient Kevin Racks, attempting to prove otherwise, even though that's only a very small part of the wide body of accusations against Postle. Even if Postle had enough of a heart to spare Racks from his cheating, that doesn't make him innocent of cheating tons of others.
Then there's the final section of the article where he obsesses over Haley's accusation that Postle had one of his opponents re-swipe his cards because they weren't read correctly. Haley correctly made the point that Postle would have no way to know this unless he was able to see which cards were received by the control room. To refute this, Caldwell shows a video of a DIFFERENT hand, where the dealer tells a player to re-swipe, after receiving headset-communication to tell the player to do so.
Caldwell and his buddies seem intent upon making a lot of noise about super-minor details, hoping that the sum of all the noise will sow seeds of doubt in people's heads.
The question is... why? Everyone has made up their minds about Postle. That ship has sailed. He will never be seen as anything other than a cheater in the poker world, because the mountain of circumstantial evidence speaks for itself. Does Caldwell really think he will change minds? Or is this meant for others to find when googling Postle in the future, so he can point to that when employers or others find the many anti-Postle posts and articles, and perhaps he can claim that RounderLife investigated and exonerated him.
Caldwell's articles remind me of the cheating husband who, after being caught by his wife, tries to find the slightest holes in her accusations to "prove" his innocence. So if she points to 9 times where he was missing and she has reasonable evidence he was cheating, he points to one of those 9 times with proof he was getting a cavity filed at the dentist, but fails to address the other 8. Even if the many accusations against Postle are, say, 90% correct instead of 100% correct, that still means he's a cheater.
Someone should submit some photos for him to review: https://www.rounderlife.com/casting/
This whole Rounder Life sideshow to Postlegate is bizarre.
There is nothing wrong with a friend or business associate (or former business associate) of Postle sticking up for him. It's the effort to try and publish favorable statements about Postle under the guise that they are coming from some sort of impartial, neutral observer that is totally absurd.
As if Postle would opt to send his yet-to-be-public Court filing only to Rounder Life for publication on the internet while he is coincidently using a roundermagpro gmail account, which Postle then tries to cover up by correction to his actual Court filing, that is just LOL.
The only possible conclusion is that Caldwell is both old and stupid.
Maybe now we know how Postle "crushed it on UB" so hard in the 2000s.
Hmmmmm
BTW, the UBT was the main reason Russ cheated, from what I was told. That was how the UBT was funded.
From March 23, but I forgot to post it, and RounderLife is now responding and trying to defend Postle (of course).

Here's the Haley article being discussed: https://www.pokertube.com/article/ne...gate-continues
Oh, and Mac Verstandig took on 63 new clients in this class action complaint, raising the number of plaintiffs from 25 to 88. Here's the new amended complaint (all 54 pages): https://mbvesq.com/de-040-amended-compl
Actually, the only Tweet I embedded in either of the stories I wrote was Verstandig's. The editor at PokerTube, Adnan, decided on his own to put some other Tweets in there to punch up the story. I wish he hadn't done that with that Tweet of Joseph's, and I'll have to talk with him about that.
Even if you had embedded those tweets, so what?
It's not like Postle is of unimpeachable character and this changes his reputation. I feel that all stories about Postle need to be publicized, and then people can evaluate each on their own merits.
RounderLife (Evert Caldwell) just seems obsessed with discrediting you, because you frequently write articles about Postle. I don't think anyone's buying it. I haven't seen any truly neutral people change their minds about Postle as a result of RounderLife's propaganda.
Separate lawsuit against Postle (but not Stones) filed by female poker pro turned wannabe-Youtube-star Marle Cordeiro: https://www.reviewjournal.com/?p=2001008
Mac Verstandig also representing her.
Marle was in a notable hand against Postle at 6:14 in this video:
She had QT, Postle had QJ, flop was J98 two diamonds. Postle check-folded the turn, in what was a highly unlikely move unless he could see he was crushed.
Update: New motion to dismiss filed by Stones.

They assert that casinos have no "duty of care" toward gamblers.
A duty of care is the legal responsibility of a person or organization to behave in a way which can reasonably be foreseen to cause harm to others.
"Duty of care" actually came up when my car was damaged by construction equipment at the Rio in 2009. Even though the damage was not directly caused by humans, they had a duty of care for my vehicle while it was in their lot, to the extent of not storing equipment near my vehicle which could fall on it in bad weather. Therefore, I was legally entitled to them paying for my repairs when their own equipment blew into my car.
In this case, Stones is asserting that casinos do not have any duty of care at all regarding gamblers playing poker against one another. Simply put, they're saying that they are not responsible to monitor the game for cheating.
In most cases, this is true. If a fellow player at Commerce marks cards and cheats me, I can't successfully sue Commerce upon discovering it. However, the lawsuit here specifically alleges that Stones employees were engaging in the cheating scheme with Postle, and I believe duty of care would not apply here.
Similarly, if I owned a restaurant and a fellow patron walked up and punched you in the face, I wouldn't be responsible. However, if one of my employees punched you in the face, I could be.
The attorneys on PFA can correct me if I'm wrong on this.
