Resort fees are there only to deceive. They exist so consumers using hotel search sites online do not see the actual price of the rooms. The problem has gotten worse and worse over the years, with mandatory resort fees becoming a higher and higher percentage of the total room charge, in some cases eclipsing 50%.

We will see where this goes.

BTW, in the article, an attorney named Lauren Wolfe is quoted, who represents a group called Travelers United. She appeared on an episode of PFA Radio, discussing resort fees.

Here is the actual bill: https://ebjohnson.house.gov/sites/eb..._FINAL_xml.pdf
