I was going to pass through Laughlin on the way back from some secret locations, and I figured I would stop there.
I haven't been to Laughlin in 10 years, and figured it would be interesting to stop by.
For those of you that don't know, Laughlin is kinda the "poor man's Vegas with a river", and is FAR quieter, cheaper, and more laid back than Vegas.
So I went to go book a hotel, and I found almost everything was sold out for the weekend of August 10-12.
The one hotel that wasn't sold out, The Aquarius, was like $200/night and only had 3 rooms left. This is a mediocre property that normally goes for like $45/night.
No fucking way I am paying $200 to stay in Laughlin, so I aborted and decided to go somewhere else.
Here is the reason Laughlin will be so jammed next weekend:
Yes, it's the Colorado River Regatta (also known as the Bullhead City Regatta):

Is this thing really so popular and interesting to where people pay $200/night to stay at mediocre Laughlin hotels?
