Druff, I’m wondering if your dislike of Phil Hellmuth has biased your read on his supposed misdeed of taking $20,000 out of Mike Matusow’s stack at the Live at the Bike game. Why? Because the primary offender in that case is Matusow, who effectively took $20,000 off of his stack while still in the game in order to give Phil his stake back (plus some profit). Hellmuth may have physically taken the chips, but Matusow was the one definitely in the wrong for allowing him to do, as well as the person most to benefit from allowing him to do so given his financial situation.

And while one player verbally complained, the players at the table other than Matusow as a whole didn’t demand to the floor that Matusow leave the game, and probably because they think he’s a fish who got lucky, and Matusow staying, even with a smaller stack, was the better chance to get their money back than making him choose whether to completely leave or prevent Hellmuth from walking away with chips from his stack.
