Clearly he was calling some poor schlep in or near VA Beach obviously. You ask how I know. It’s easy in his drunken state it’s obvious he was dialing 757-Fraud-55 instead of 775-Fraud-55. 757 is the area code for the far SE corner of VA where Va Beach Norfolk and the rest are. The irony would be funnier if that number was dialed and it went to somewhere near Norfolk Naval Base or Little River where the East coast SEAL base is. Oh shit he could’ve dialed an alert pager number for the seals. Damn. Ok I’m gonna stop but if Les disappears suddenly due to DevGru kicking down his door we’ll at least know why.

Yes, I concede this isn't a new development. It just irked me to get a promo e-mail saying "81% rakeback until Aug 29", and then 51% of it was Splash the Pot.

And by irked, I mean that while it doesn't affect me personally, this is pretty misleading behavior from a site which claims its goal was to be "transparent and fair".

If you're gonna wave the "transparent, honest, and fair" flag in people's faces as a main selling point, then you can't also shoot marketing angles.

Druff, for future reference: New Yorkers normally don’t include “Mountains” when referring to the Catskill Mountains area; they usually just call it “the Catskills”.

Also, re Resorts World *Catskills* proximity to New York City: There are two decent poker rooms that are comparable or better in travel time from NYC: Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA, and Wind Creek Bethlehem (previously Sands Bethlehem) in Bethlehem, PA.







For comparison, both of these PA casinos are about 45 minutes closer to NYC than the Borgata in Atlantic City.



Add in that these PA casinos are located in much more populated areas than the mostly rural greater Catskills region, and it just can’t begin to compete with those eastern PA poker rooms. Per Bravo Live, Parx currently has 25 games going and Wind Creek 14, while Resorts World Catskills has only 5 tables going. And those numbers at the PA poker rooms are probably depressed from normal because of the Million Dollar Deep Stack tournament that has been running this week at Borgata since earlier this week.
