Shout out from interior British Columbia

Never mind the lumber jack jokes I fled the Island with prairie bound intentions and then nature took over.
Felt sick several hours into my journey so pulled up at the nearest town Merritt and tried and failed to reach
the nearest public restroom. For whatever reason I was wearing jeans instead of shorts which saved
me great embarrassment as all let loose as soon as I got out of the car. Diahreah cry. I had no control. I made it to the wash room with no one pointing but it was literally a shit show. There was no holding anything, this had a mind of it's own. I guess I knew what was going to happen as I grabbed a pair of cargo pants before I made my way. I had to ditch the jeans in the wash room.

It was bad enough that afterwards I sought out a nearby lake and jumped right in.

Anyway back to decent health, physically, and I'm in Kamloops B.C. which is just a treat. Great weather, beautiful topography etc. see pics.






I've given up my trip to the prairies and instead will work my way back hitting many of the lake communities in interior B.C.

I've been through atrial fibrilation and suffered 9 months of crippling angina before I actually had a heart attack. I drove myself to the hospital in every instance. A crap attack doesn't faze me although I would wish it on only a few. In other words I'm no pussy

I don't know Les... I was in Kamloops 2 years ago. Didn't find it too exciting. Just used it as mostly a stopover point between Fraser Valley and Mt. Robson.

Maybe we are connected in some way. Yesterday I had a similar experience, driving while experiencing an abrupt GI illness, and feeling like it was a race whether I'd get to a bathroom or shit my pants first.

I had the worst abdominal pain I've ever had in my life. I managed to get off the freeway, stop at a library, and run into the bathroom before any mess was made. But it was close.

I've still not shit my pants since I was a very little kid -- a streak I'd like to see continue. But this was the closest it's been for me since I was in Israel in 1989, ate some bad shawarma from a stand, and had to find a bathroom out in an open-air market type place which wasn't easy. I saw a McDonald's in the distance, ran there, found out the bathroom was upstairs, ran up there, and I came seconds away from shitting my pants, but my ass hit the seat just as it was forcing itself out. That was a close one.

Technically this is day 3 in Kamloops although the first day was a wash, ahem.

So it's pretty much an arid landscape except you've got major rivers and lakes all around.

It's 90 so I head out to the closest lake with good reviews.




Fuck yeah, McConnell lake, spring fed crystal clear waters, few people and only one swimming, me.

Why take a picture of the clouds? Well I'm pretty sure I heard my name from above.

So there's a 1.5 mile trail around the lake and I take it.





On the way back, I see the sign.
