What temperature do you keep your house at?

I usually keep it set at about 72 degrees in the summer, 70 in the winter.

My body adjusts weird so I like it around 72 in the winter (and can still wear warm long sleeved clothes) but in the summer I like it 68 (wearing shorts and t-shirt) if possible.

    74 is ideal for me.

I'm talking about real temperature, not what the thermostat says.

If I cool to 74 in the summer, it tends to get too cold, so I set it for something like 76-77.

If I heat to 74 in the winter, it tends to get too hot, so I set it for around 71.

I like it 70 with a ceiling fan in the summer when I sleep.

I like it 74 with a ceiling fan in the winter when I sleep.

Variable factors to me adjusting the temp include sex and alcohol(like it cooler, it helps with the hangovers).

74 is ideal for me as well but generally, as Druff mentioned, your thermostat setting is not the same as the ambient temperature inside your house. In the summer here in Phoenix in a residence, setting the thermostat to 77-78 keeps the house at a comfortable 74 degrees. (Depends on the house obv.)

In an office building, probably because the spaces are smaller and there are more machines and people, you have to set it for 75ish. Unfortunately for me, budget overhauls over the past decade at my work caused mandates about temperature control, so now all the thermostats are stuck at 78, which is crazy hot for that environment. You end up surrounding yourself with fans which is uber annoying, but I guess after a few years you get used to the constant whir, and the air blowing on you all the time.

In the winter, there is really no need to use heating or cooling, as the temps are about 74 during the day. I like it to get a little cooler at night anyway, so I never turn the heat on in winter - I just throw an extra comforter in the bed.

68-70 in the summer. I don't turn the heat on in the winter. In fact, that's usually when I open the windows.

I run central air pretty much non-stop and keep it 65ish all summer. I might only turn the heat on when it dips to the 20's outside. I like it freakishly cold. Drives women crazy, but keeps them close also. I'm basically a walking space heater.

I've never be enable to achieve a perfect temp. I am always way to hot or way to cold... I've worn hoodies in Nevada in the middle of summer and shorts in new jersey in the middle of winter. I just never know how I'm gonna feel and as a result I keep a suitcase full of winter and summer clothes in my trunk all the time

I'm naturally cold to begin with (my body temperature is around 96 degrees) so I keep the house at 70+ pretty much year round. If it gets over 80 I need to turn AC's on
I write things about poker at my Poker Blog and elsewhere on the Internets
