I can't help staring at this thread. This has to be drunk posting. Line two is puzzling.

Druff said it was a Gopher snake.....not venomous, not dangerous unless your a rodent so I

would let Druff deal with it by having him watch it slither into the bushes.

Would a live wild snake in an open area let a much bigger animal get so close it long enough to that larger animal to take such a pic up close and so well composed?

Cropping could have reduced the amount of concrete surface around the snake, but could not have changed the perspective, which gives the impression of a pic taken very close to the subject.

Druff would have sprung for a selfie stick??? I never thought of someone so enamored with pictorially capturing part of his life like that, especially because he seems to so enjoy recounting them with life stories shared in prose form on the forum or during PFA Radio show episodes.

It’s called zoom feature on your phone rubes.

The zoom feature on smart phone camera is usually just a digital crop of the entire image captured by camera, and cannot replicate the perspective that can be captured by being closer to the subject. Using TP (originally meant for my bung hole), I simulated a snake snapped crawling away from the pic taker.

Here’s from a distance of about 3-4 feet from the tail of the “snake”:



Here’s from the same distance, but using the zoom feature to make the “snake” fill more of the frame:
