Anyone want to take an oil swim in the river?

Same thing has happened in Northern Alberta for ESSO where they use SAGD(Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) technology which is the same as this. I didn't realize Bakersfield had heavy oil & the incident happened because the resevoir was over pressured. That oil must also be really shallow in this area for this to happen.

“No injuries have been reported and the state said the spill presents no risk to the public. DOGGR said in a statement the area is remote and the underlying groundwater has no beneficial use.”
I once represented a school maintenance worker out there whose lungs were damaged by a toxic cloud of gas from the Chevron plant. Fortunately, he was the only one outside at the time. If it had been recess, it would have been a disaster.
And yes I am happy I left Bakersfield, even though it is my home town.

LOL
Standard capitalist failure. Now someone must post about how happy they are living in oil drenched capitalist hell hole as opposed to any Communist Utopia.
Socialism is the transitional period of capitalism being taken over by Communism.
I have some close personal friends that have gone to the former communist block to work & they all said that there were no environmental laws & it was the most ridiculous gong show they had ever seen or could even imagine. It wasn't an environmental disaster waiting to happen it was already an environmental disaster that we couldn't even fathom.
