It’s been reported she was placed in a medically induced coma as a result of her battle with throat cancer. She had previously gotten into remission but a relapse occurred recently and it’s not looking good for her at all. Just another harsh lesson about smoking being a killer habit. It’s what lead to my dads death at 57 almost 2 decades ago (was laryngeal cancer which they thought he’d beat then it came back with a vegence with a huge mass in his chest)

I seem to remember the dregs of my Facebook throwing a bunch of thoughts and prayers memes about her years back. Genuinely thought she was dead; weird. Thoughts and prayers.

Throat cancer is my fucking nightmare, as I detest throat problems with a passion. I thought of this 20+ years ago long before I had any throat problems. Fortunately for me, being a lifelong nonsmoker, my chances of getting that aren't as high, but still, it happens to nonsmokers.

Mike Evans (creator of "Good Times", and also Lionel on "The Jeffersons" and "All in the Family") died at 57 of throat cancer. This guy ran really bad in that his wife died in 2002 at the age of 50 of breast cancer, and then four years later he died of throat cancer. Coincidentally, his wife's maiden name was Jefferson.

Brutal.
