Sexton Puts Jeopardy Champ in 2 WSOP Events

    https://www.cbssports.com/general/ne...-in-las-vegas/

"I decided to enter because (Poker Hall of Famer) Mike Sexton contacted me and offered to sponsor my buy-ins," Holzhauer told the Review-Journal. "I don't have any plans to enter another WSOP event beyond those two."

That's according to Todd Dewey of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which reported Friday that "Jeopardy James" will participate in two events at Vegas' Rio Convention Center on Monday, starting with a $1,500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em Super Turbo Bounty tournament at 11 a.m.

I'm surprised he's not entering some of these on his own.

He obviously has the money to do so, was already a poker player (he posted on 2+2 back in the 2000s), and lives right in Vegas.

He's also friends with poker pro Andrew Barber, according to what I've seen on Twitter.

He probably knows he's -EV in poker & doesn't wish to light his own $ on fire.

    Why so cheap?

Why not pay his $10,000 buy-in for the main event?

Mike Sexton is worth tens of millions of dollars.

James Holzhauer just won over $2 million dollars but hasn't got paid yet (apparently Jeopardy winners don't get paid until 3 or 4 months after their last show airs on TV and about 40% will go for taxes.

They actually did something they don't normally do and paid James right after that episode aired in an interview so he has his money.
