Such a weird break structure. Kept breaking every hour at the beginning, but we are playing 146 minutes straight to end the day. Speaking of breaking, I have played at exactly 2 tables the entire Main Event so far (19 hours). #pfa73

In a hand I believe you will see on the Pokernews update soon, I raised JJ 5k UTG, got 3 callers, including both blinds. Bet 10k K52 rainbow flop, called by UTG+1. Check/called 15k on 7 turn. Check/check A river, I win. Up to 317k #pfa73

Of course I got stuck paying 5k for SB/BB as the WSOP Main Day 2 ended, as usual. Still managed to barely keep my head above 300k water, bagging up 300,400 which is well above average. Returning on Monday at 11am! #pfa73

No but seriously I'm happy with how today went. Came in with 93.5, leave with 300. Won it all in the first 5 hours and stagnated the other 5, but overall can't complain. Not getting showered ? just yet!

I started off chipping up quickly in WSOP Day 2, and I went from 93k to 287k by the end of the first 5 hours.

The second 5 hours slowed down considerably, partially due to a beat/cooler hand where I got it in with 7s8s against a short-medium stack on a JT9 two heart board, and he held two black jacks. He spiked the ten on the turn to win the pot of about 115k.

When the day was over, I finished almost exactly at 300k -- 300,400 to be exact. I never managed to break 320k, despite being at 287k with 5 hours left to play.

Most of my table failed to survive the day. Only three of nine players -- including me -- were able to get through the day. The three good players I mentioned in my pre-Day-2 post -- all whom came in with stacks similar to mine -- busted fairly early in the day. One of them was busted by me, Peter Rho, another limit holdem player whom I've faced many times before in cash games. I had JJ versus his QQ in a SB versus BB battle, and hit the J on the turn, for my one lucky beat of the day.

Jerod Smith, whom I didn't know before this table, initially disliked me and made a snide comment about me on Twitter regarding "hating people who wear their bracelet to the WSOP Main Event". However, by the end of the day, he decided that he liked me. About an hour after play ended, he drew my attention on Twitter to his earlier tweet, and that he had since posted a correction that he had changed his mind about me.

Smith, a 35-year-old lawyer and poker player, was the most successful at the table, finishing with 406k. I finished #2 in chips at the table, including the new people who were brought to replace those who busted.

I have a full day off again, returning with the entire remaining field on Monday at 11am.

The money may or may not hit near the end of the night.

Since we will be combining with Day 2C (which has yet to play), only four seats have been set at my table.

    Todd Witteles LAS VEGAS, NV, US 300,400 Pavilion / 122 / 3
    Torrey Korsog OSPREY, FL, US 214,700 Pavilion / 122 / 4
    Steffen Kylevik GB 143,400 Pavilion / 122 / 6
Prinz Olav von Sachsen Las Vegas, NV, US 150,900 Pavilion / 122 / 9

    Seats 1, 2, 5, 7, and 8 will fill tomorrow night.

It is possible that I will not be with these people for very long, as they break the Pavilion tables first, and the Amazon ones last.

I got Amazon for Day 1 and 2, and my table never broke either day.

Torrey Korsog is not well known, but he has $246k in cashes, including at the 2016 Main, and cashed in the tough $3k NL 6-Max this year, so he won't be an easy spot.

Steffen Kylevik is actually Norwegian, even though it says he's from UK. He only has $58k in total cashes, but did min-cash the Main last year. I'm guessing he's decent.

Prinz Olav von Sachsen hit two 6-figure scores in 2008, but has since failed to match that, and hasn't cashed in anything since 2017. However, from what I can see, he will also be a solid opponent.

From what I can see, this isn't a great table draw yet, but we are on Day 3, so I can't exactly expect a cakewalk.

Hopefully a few recs or shortstacks will end up at the table from 2C.

My stack stands 156th out of 1087 remaining.

More than half of the 2383 players from Day 2AB have gone to the rail.

    1087 of 3346 total players from Day 1A & 1B (plus 96 late-regging Day 2AB) survived, so that's about 1/3 of the field.

4879 players played Day 1C, of which 3664 survived. If they bust at the same rate, that will be about 1585 players remaining from that flight, plus a small amount of late-reggers who will survive.

We will probably come into Day 3 with around 2700 people.

Average stack from the end of Day 2AB is 184700, so I'm substantially above that at the moment, but not quite double.

A little less than half the Day 3 field will cash -- probably about 1270 people.

I will probably come into Day 3 about 375th-400th place in chips out of 2700 or so people.

We will know the exact numbers in a day.

go druff go. I just watched helmuth shove 5 high to guy with king 9 and nine on flop.Phil complained about how stupid he was for trying to bluff then did a 360 crying how bad people are. there was no hand that Phil could represent with his 5 3. lol 10 minutes still crying about how bad the rec was and to never bluff on a rec. Rec just taking it all in and laughing.

Helmuth had 15k left dobuled up with ak to 22

The "rec" was actually Kou Vang, a pro from Minnesota.

Hellmuth played like an idiot instead of waiting for a good spot to get his chips in.

    Day 2C has completed.

8569 total entrants to the 2019 Main Event.

    1793 survived 2C, 1087 survived 2AB, for a total of 2880 players remaining. 1286 get paid, starting from $15,000.

I am 386th out of the remaining field.

    Average stack is 178,500.

Here are the remaining people assigned to my table:

    Max Silver LONDON, GB 92,800 Pavilion / 122 / 1
    Denis Pisarev MOSCOW, , RU 195,100 Pavilion / 122 / 2
    Michael Newman Nanuet, NY, US 215,000 Pavilion / 122 / 5
Brian Gudim SAN JOSE, CA, US UNKNOWN CHIPS Pavilion / 122 / 7
    Leanne Brown Rimbey, Alberta, Canada 45,500 Pavilion / 122 / 8

Max Silver is a very well known player, but he's about half of average, so hopefully I won't have to deal with him for very long. I also have position on him.

Denis Pisarev is a Russian who seems fairly good, and cashed in the 2018 Main. I have direct position on him.

Michael Newman is a middle-aged guy who has played a ton of tournaments in the 2010s, mostly 3-figure buyins, but he has cashed a few bigger ones, as well. He did win a big field event in Florida early this year for $183k.

Brian Gudim appears to be a recreational player, and has $42k of total cashes. For some reason his chip count wasn't reported.

Leanne Brown, a shortstack, appears to be a Canadian recreational player.

The good news is that I have everyone at the table covered by 85k or more.

Fortunately I have about 125 big blinds and the table covered at the moment. With fewer recreational players left, it will be tougher with each day. #pfa73

Today will be different than the other two in that my table will not survive the day. It will break at some point. My last two days had play for me at just one table each. #pfa73

Whirlwind of hands, including TT in a 3-bet pot on Q high board, AA (both wins), folded nut flush draw to a shortstack all in because pot was too small (she had top set), and two failed small pots. 305k #pfa73

Laid down top pair on river to what appeared to be a flopped set. Still managed to chip up slightly at the new table, which appears to be a better draw than the first one. I have 331k #pfa73

Guy just showed up to table as a short stack, but told he has to sit out one round as a penalty. Floorman said it was something "pretty bad". Hmm...

1 round costs 7500 at this point. #pfa73

Dream hand where I had AcTc 3 ways, J94 two clubs flop, 8c on turn. He bet 30, I raised to 100, he called. Ace spades river, he checked, I bet 90 (more than that would've looked weird given my stack, and I was afraid he was folding to shove). He called. Up to 528k #pfa73
