    best frozen pizza..better than restaurant

pizzeria uno deep dish frozen/refrigerated pizza @ your grocer is top top.

this pizza is better than their restaurant pizza.

this pizza is better than lou malnatti's overnight frozen that poeple gift to you @ 29.99 each

this pizza costs from 5.99-7.99. i always buy it an sale...they evn have the mini version..but buy the full size

do yourself a favor and don't but the pepperoni or sausage..it just doesn't taste nearly as good as the plain.

i want to lead my brothers in the right direction.

the key for perfection is to always defrost first and NOT overcook the pie. 24minutes top!!!! i always baste the crust halfway through w/ butter and when it come out

    trust me..

I was just about to say this. The crust is buttery. I never made it to the restaurant in Chicago, but I think this is very close to the real deal.

How has no one posted the microwave pizza Jewdonk pic yet?
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

i've had close to 20 of these pies over the span of 3 years. some people won't like the the deep dish pie, becuse it's a different taste altogether.

the key is to not overcook this pizza. sad but true, the toppings ruin the pizza. it's a combo of a few things but they don't add enough flavor and just don't cook right.

you have to make sure your oven rack is centered as well. don't have it one rung up or one down..if you don't have a center..go towards the bottom. your pizza goes directly on it, not on a cookie sheet.

another thing is basting the crust. it's a must. most deep dish crust is dry and similar to bisquick. adding the butter to it keeeps it moist and makes you want to eat it. i've found that 2 heavy bastings..at the 1/2 mark (i just take a stick of butter, stick my hand in the oven and twirl around coating the whole pie, even the lip so some of it runs down towards the pizza as well....and when it comes out, i slide it out onto aluminum foil on my cookie sheet and butter that was well, so that the bottom gets dapped w/ it....this works well...and then baste the whole thing again...cut into 4 and enjoy

Sounds good but I'm not basting nothing especially not a frozen pizza. If this pizza was really good it would have an auto baste feature

it's not really a 'frozen pizza'

it's usually kept in the open air refrig/frezzers at your market. (it's even marked w/ an expiration date/best use tag on it) not behind doors of glass frozen. even so, you must defrost the pizza for a day in ur refrig for it to be perfect as well...

and basting is a must..unless you despise butter and refuse to eat the crust..

another thing..NO fake spray stuff......you must use real butter

It is what it is......if you like spinach and cheese you're in for a treat and you're spared the horror that is pepperoni and sausage

The best make-it-yourself pizza isn't frozen pizza - it's do-it-yourself English Muffin mini pizzas. These are easy if you already have homemade spaghetti sauce on hand, which I usually do because I make a ton of it when I cook, and freeze it. You can find my recipe for gourmet-tasting spaghetti sauce on a budget in the Great Food and Cocktail thread.

So all you do is toast the English muffins to crispy, bop a big spoonful of warm spaghetti sauce on them, sprinkle with cheese, and place under a broiler until the cheese melts. If you want, you can load up extra toppings, but it's not necessary if you started out with a great sauce. Out of this world good and ready in 5 minutes. Made a few today for lunch and was reminded once again that the frozen food aisle in the market is completely worthless.
