Line sucks for Big 50. Not doing it now. Maybe I will go back later and register. Stay tuned. #pfa03

Decided to play the Big #Fofty on Saturday, due to a number of factors. That's not part of my packages, btw, so this doesn't affect any of you. #pfa03

Still a line for the Big Fofty, even at 6:30am, in both rooms. Unbelievable. This was mismanaged. #pfa03

Hey @WSOP, I was told that all flight C registrants of the Big Fofty are being placed in the tiny "poker room" near the buffet.

    What?!

Are the laws of space and time going to be bent?

    Can you explain further? Thanks.

The #WSOP gets an "A" so far regarding their management of the tournament play at the Big Fofty. Seriously, great job.

However they get a "D" for their predicable mismanagement of the registration process, which everyone saw coming a mile away.

Im honestly not trolling. Id like to hear what you would have done differently? Do they have every window open or are they short staffed? Is there a better way to get 6000+ people registered per day?

I highly recommend everyone pre-registers online when possible. I understand there is a nominal fee. And you sometimes dont know in advance what tourney you want to jump in. But if you can register early it is much much easier.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

    Good question.

I was going to do radio tonight and get into all of this, but honestly I'm too tired from the long day at the tournament yesterday and subsequently playing cash all night.

I also didn't get much sleep because I had to get up after a few hours to do something here during the early afternoon.

Anyway, I'll explain more of this on radio, which will be on Sunday.

The short answer is that they could have done the following:

    - Made a full online registration which doesn't require any fail kiosks or any other form of completion at the Rio -- at least for people with existing Caesars Rewards cards. They could have allowed people to print their own registration tickets at home, or made an app which gives the seat assignments which can be shown to the dealer.

    - Opened up more cashiers. Yes, there were times when I saw cashier windows closed, especially in the Diamond room, despite there being a line the entire time. Unacceptable. They also could have opened up a lot more cashiers because they have a temporary cage they erect each year in the Pavilion Room (for the cash games), and they simply could have made a bigger cashier area and staffed more people for this and any other huge field events.

    - Improved the registration system to where people with Total Rewards cards could fully pre-register, and simply show up to pay and get their seat printed quickly. Again, this could have even been done with an app, which you walk up, they scan it, you pay, something prints quickly, and you walk away. Line would have moved blazing fast. Then they could have had separate lines for those that didn't do this.

It's stupid because there's not even a risk of counterfeit registrations. The system knows if you've registered and paid, so you don't even have to worry about people printing fake registration tickets, because you won't get paid if you use one and end up making the money (that part is already built in, btw).

Anyway for years the WSOP has just taken the approach of, "Let's not change anything and wait until something fails before taking preventative measures in the future", rather than foreseeing the problems and working to prevent them from happening in the first place.

Anyway, I'm playing on Saturday, 6/1 at 10:00am.

If I make Day 2, it will be on Monday, 6/3. Day 3 would be on Wednesday, 6/5. I assume I won't make it past that so I won't bother explaining the rest.

Not the right attitude Sir! Also watch out for the guy using a gold scorpion for a card protector!

Well this is a new one. I am registered for today's Big Fofty and absolutely can't find my tournament ticket. Searched for 30 min. It's gone. Usually this is super easy, just go reprint. Not today with the 5 hour lines. Working on it... #pfa03

I've never had this happen before, and of all things it's the one event where it's not easy to fix. Staff is able rectify it. Should've just gone down earlier. Blinded out a bit but 1st level so no big deal. #pfa03

They fixed it. Props to the WSOP staff for going the extra mile to handle it in unorthodox fashion and dodge the bureaucracy to seat me quickly. Also my stack was not blinded off, so I start with full 50k. Great success! #pfa03

Okay, so with the lost ticket mess behind me, here I am at the Big Fofty event. I'm literally seated in a warehouse. Feels like I'm playing a tournament in some underground room. Awful considering I registered early for this. Oh well. #pfa03

We start with 50k chips which is deceiving because it moves fast and blinds get big. Currently playing 100/300. I have 48300. Right now it's very deep which is cool but that won't last long. #pfa03

K6cc on QQ7 two club board. Saw some 3-way flop action, tossed on 9 turn. They get it all in with 77 and QT. 9 river. Ouch!

I bluffed next pot, for my first win. Currently have 46k. #pfa03

Not a good first two levels. Got a lot of hands, wasn't hitting flops well. Had to make a lay down on final hand before break which was probably correct. Have 29k. Need to spin it back up. Return at 12:07. #pfa03 #warehouse
