Doris Day was already 60 when I became aware of her when I was around 10 years old, so I was sure she had died a long time ago.
She actually just died today at age 97.
Reminds me of Phyllis Diller, who was already making "old lady" jokes in the '70s, who I assumed was long dead, but actually stayed around until 2012.
