Longtime sportsbook since 1998, "The Greek", shuts down while balances migrate to BetCRIS

The Greek Sportsbook has closed. The company had been in business since 1998 and was considered by many to be one of the original pillars of the sports betting industry. Player balances are being migrated to another A+ rated sportsbook in Betcris. There will be no rollover requirements attached to balances. Pending bets will be settled normally in The Greek's software. Winnings will be transferred to Betcris.

The Greek was a staple for first lines for a long time. You have to wonder with sports betting getting more and more legalized in states in the US, how many off shore (illegal) books will face the same fate as that progresses as casual punters migrate to the legal sites.
