Gordman: Cut him some slack, I'm sure he's just very busy with his herpetology profession and all of the reptile identification requests he is bombarded with on a daily basis.

Until this thread I assumed Garrett was the victim and not his father.

    Now I'm not so sure.

Here is best way to deal with snakes.

    1) Kill the snake.

    2) Ask questions later.

Big snake in my driveway today.

    I'll post pics later.

This area gets TONS of snakes in April-May. Lessens some during the summer but they're still around.

The hiking in the area was beautiful in April because of all the rain in the winter (tons of flowers and greenery everywhere), but rattlesnakes were all over the trails. Made for some paranoid hiking.

    *AHEM* FYP

ATTENTION EVERYONE: it has become apparent that several of you in this thread are incorrectly naming off several different kinds of imaginary snakes.

While i realize these snakes have been listed and talked about in many different forms of media in the past years, I am here to set the record straight and educate you as to how these "different snakes" are nothing more than silly myths carried on from generation to generation. The stories are fake and do nothing but continually spread misinformation.

Please from this point forward, refer to them as their only acceptable name - Boa Constrictors.

    Thank you for your cooperation.
