*** OFFICIAL 2020 Democratic Presidential Nomination Race Thread ***

It’s time to put the discussions of who the Dems will put up to face Trump in 2020 in a simple thread. And here’s a notable article to get it started given the recent roughing up that Biden has gotten over being too touchy-feely for aome women’s taste.

If Joe Biden’s long-rumored presidential run crashes and burns, here’s who his supporters would flock to

Frankly, I’m surprised Beto isn’t higher in the ranks as 2nd choice among Biden supporters, as well as how many would throw their support for Sanders given how different Sanders policy stances are likely to be from Biden’s. But it’s notable the Beto doesn’t register as among the top 4 unfavorables to Biden supporters.

Any others running is a waste of time. Trump will win again by a landslide.

Yes, but if the Democratic nominee is smart enough to change their name to "Not Trump" and just endlessly bash Trump every single day then they might have a chance.

As strange as it sounds, this might end up like the 2012 Republican Primary: Whoever doesn't beat themselves wins.

Warren seems to already have beaten herself with that silly DNA test.

Biden beat himself a long time ago with his Creepy Uncle Joe routine, along with tons of stupid shit he said in the past which will come back to bite him if he starts to seriously contend.

Beto is beating himself with generally peculiar behavior. It seems that the more he speaks, and the more we learn about him, the worse off his candidacy becomes.

The other haven't really beaten themselves yet, though Kamala Harris is kinda dogged with questions about sleeping with Willie Brown in order to advance her career, and Bernie may just be too old and socialist for the mainstream Democrats to embrace. Bernie also has the problem in that black people simply don't want to vote for him.

There just isn't a real clear frontrunner this time. That's where Mayor Pete may have a chance. Being a white male hurts him, as does his lack of experience. The gay thing won't help him all that much in the primary, as gay white males are actually thought to have privilege by many on the left. However, he might be able to win by simply remaining likable while everyone else around him melts down.

There’s some merit to what you are saying here about particular Dem candidates.

But the folks on here who are predicting that the Dems will be steamrolled by Trump are deluding themselves.

Because, in part, the Dems won’t nominate THE worst politician in recent Democratic Party history for the top spot.

Kamala Harris get dogged about Willie Brown? In the real news that story lasted 2-3 days,
Just proof Druff get his news from the fringe, (that and when he said w/authority that Hillary hates Chelsea.)
Also misogynistic, like he'd talk about Willie Brown like that, if he was in the circle.

Hypocritical, Joe Biden is creepy? 'If she wasn't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her' 'We both like Sex' Trump on Ivanka.
Trump has all Joe has and more, only w/actual sexual assault allegations.

It doesn’t matter who the Dem primary voters will support because it’s all about who the powers that be want as the nominee. The super delegates are who continue to decide who the nominee will be not the primary voters. Unless and until the the process is cleaned up and cleaned out to limit the power of the SDs which are made up of all the political power hacks nothing is changing.

The superdelegates only account for about 10% of the total delegates. They will be able to control who wins if the race ends up being close, like what happened in 2016. But if Biden drops out, the info above suggests that Sanders would be the odds-on-favorite to get too much of a lead in normal delegates for the superdelagates to matter.
