oh you'll never get republican votes since he's their messiah but the goal is to have a chance at independents who might prefer a sociopath over a socialist

so apparently like 18% of the US voted for trump, thats how many people stayed home during that election.

this is how i see it:

    - a lot of people who voted for trump are going to stay home in nov 2019 election
    - a lot of people who stayed home instead of voting for hillary in 2015 are going to be out in force in 2020 because this is literal madness and its embarrassing

those are the two factors im locked in on for trump to be a one termer.

but the X factor, that he is literally the jim jones of the republican party and everything to the right of it and has absolutely electrified his christian conservative base, is enough for me to say 'right, of course..' when once again he wins the electoral college regardless of losing the popular election.

i need to see a few more republicans peace out on their own circular waco before i think there is a light at the end of the tunnel frankly.

100% agree that you just need the people who stayed home (primarily, young people and minorities) to turn out and trump loses. i've been counting on that from day 1 when i thought literally anyone would beat him. i don't think trump expands his turnout from 2016. if anything, it shrinks.

my biggest concern is "medicare for all." healthcare is too tangible. everyone has it. fucking with it scares people.

i have always assumed that as we get to the general election, the medicare for all crowd (bernie and warren) will soften into a public option (i.e., you can keep private insurance if you like).

i think warren will do that as i'm not sure she's a true believer like bernie is. she was a republican and native american once.

i'm afraid bernie won't, and if he's the dem nominee, it may cost him the election.

my third fear is that biden continues to speak, rendering him unelectable. trump sounds more lucid than this guy. not more sane, but more lucid.

my understanding is all these radical sounding policies warren and bernie are branding with really arent all that radical and certainly arent anything but a net gain for the overwhelming majority of americans, and once they have a chance to explain how for more than 30 seconds before a cable news pundit offers tulsi a chance to call them faggots, i think a lot of the stink is going to vanish from those agendas.

a lot of people are going to say 'wait, so thats socialism?' and be like shit, ok fuck it lets burn one and get some free fuckin medicaid while i study for my masters and pay off my predatory student loans now that the interest is zero.

this doesnt get better, it only gets worse, because its a race to the bottom as long as trump remains on the iron throne.

First this isn’t a team sport. The object is to differentiate yourself from your opponent.

Second, Bernie has been able to communicate in a crystal clear fashion his policies and positions. He may not represent your particular views. If so, vote for someone else.

See how easy that is ... or are there some new rules cookin on Reddit?

Must be nice to live in that bubble. Lol @ nothing Bernie is saying isn't all that radical. He wants to change the entire way our economy operates and flip healthcare upside down, but yea, besides that, nothing outrageous LOL

shes such an enigma. i genuinely admire her commitment. is this all so she can secure a VP slot or is she just fully in character? and if its a VP slot she wants, which one of the candidates is she looking to team up with? gotta be bernie or pete, no?

im assuming we can strike pete from the list... https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-...ht-he-n1095736

Tulsi was a huge underdog in 2011 when she first ran for Congress against the incumbent - something like 50 points behind, due to her total lack of name recognition. People, then, asked themselves, "Is this all so she can secure __________ or is she just fully in character?" Sound familiar?

By fully digging her heels in + tirelessly campaigning, she ended up winning that primary by 20 points.

Despite the innuendo + MSM propaganda you so fully buy into, Tulsi is in this to win it. If you use Occam's Razor, it's obvious that she's doing everything she can do win the Democratic Nomination, but the DNC-controlled media is brainwashing people like you into believing that it's such an "enigma," that it's all coming from some mysterious, nefarious place. Pelosi explained it in 2012:

i mean, people with more of a voter marketshare than her have already quit, so its odd.

wild stuff about that come from behind victory back in 2011... i guess its like they say, Кто рано встаёт, тому Бог подаёт.

The sonatine / any typical coward move:

    1. Parrot smear/innuendo heard on DNC-controlled MSM

    2. Have smear refuted / evidence to the contrary provided

    3. Immediately abandon smear while refusing to explicitly acknowledge contradictory evidence, and pivot to childish insult or alternative smear

    4. Repeat a week later (often the same, refuted smear, with no alterations)

You ever see Sonatine in his prime Diggy?

He was never very athletic and he had no vertical but he was always several moves ahead. He plays every day without the newfangled load management shit. Respect the game. Old school.

He still likes to compete but he’s a little slower now so he’s gonna get in your head.

To use another analogy, he’s an artist with words and he works in all mediums. He’s just flexing at Tulsi’s expense.

Coward? You might want to walk that back.

One change I've noticed is he seems to have become more brittle over the years. People, good people with good takes set him off occasionally and he becomes one of us.

    Very good

The k is silent to my ear.

Sonatine has made this a regular feature of political discussion here and it’s better done in the original language.

One of the greatest that ever graced the webz. Absolutely fascinating.

If someone told me he was on the other side of the door ... I wouldn’t open it. Don’t want to change a thing.

Yeah, his personal confrontations are morphing somewhat. God, I hope he doesn’t become one of us.

He’s like Scorsese perhaps. The Irishman is probably important and great but the inevitable comparisons to his earlier work are going to occur. That’s really not fair.

Go easy on ‘tine. It’s be kind to Sonatine Day lol wow.

It is still strange to witness people who don't aspire to any ideal of truth/understanding, but instead reflexively defend institutions / the status quo that actively harms them. It is bizarre to see an actual reactionary in the wild. Even more, an intelligent person who debates in bad faith and becomes petulant/upset when someone disagrees with him.

That, and from an apparent huge Trump-hater, Sonatine is acting/debating exactly as Trump would. No real search for truth, mutual understanding, or discussion. Only a reflexive defense/childish anger and insults when confronted. You say you hate Trump, but your actions/words emulate him.
