Chaps' 2017-18 NFL $$ Thread
I LOLed at your internet detective work here. Why? Because the guy speaking in the video said that he didn’t buy Trump’s bullshit back in 2016. And if he didn’t retire, meaning likely take a buyout versus taking an optiom to move to another GM plant given his seniority and skillset, he wouldn’t be able to stay in the area and devote the time to work full-time on his political activism for that area, which he seems to have gotten started this past April with the formation and kickoff meeting of his local political organization, Our Revolution Mahoning Valley.
https://m.facebook.com/OurRevolutionMahoningValley/
And a local news story back in April about him and this local chapter of Sanders’ post-2016 national political organization, Our Revolution, confirms that he took early retirement in November 2018 after working for GM as a manufacturing worker for about 19 years at various GM plants.

So, yeah, Druff, he *is* just “an average Joe citizen” who is now “fighting back” as an *activist* and not an “operative”, who would be somebody paid to work for a political campaign or party, such as a campaign manager or staffer. Or dirty trickster, like Roger Stone.
Stop trying to distract from the clear and obvious point I'm making.
The average person watching this will not come away with the belief that this guy is now a full time Bernie activist.
He comes off as a disgruntled auto worker who is frustrated with Trump's inability to keep his local GM plant open.
The video purposely shows him simply standing there with his wife, rather than leading activist groups. It also doesn't mention that he's retired and now devoting all of his time to running such groups.
That's not an accidental omission.
You're supposed to come away with the belief that this is an everyman who is just fed up with Trump's shit. You're not supposed to come away seeing him as a fanatical political activist.
Try to put aside your bias, watch that video again, and you'll see what I mean.
Democrats love symboism over substance.
Rather than present us a real auto worker in dire straits, who once believed Trump and now finds themselves betrayed by his promises, they give us a full time political activist, yet purposely attempt to portray him as otherwise.
Give me a break.
It was such an intentional omission that he was interviewed by a local TV news station discussing his background and what he was hoping to do with his activism??? Seriously, Druff! You are completing reaching with your analysis here.
But I guess that being an unabashed lifelong Republican, you expect anyone who is politically active and appearing on TV portraying supposedly as ordinary citizens are actually political operatives attempting to fool the public about the nature of their status within a particular poltical party.
Druff: I don't care about this old faggot or politics but I hate that you use the word "auto worker" as if it's a bad thing. I work for one of the big three and to you I'd say go fuck yourself if you came down all condescending on me like that. Your hands have and never will see calluses. You've never worked hard for anything in your life and your attitude regarding others shows it. Stop being such a prick. And yes, I can code in many more languages than you as well.
lol computer science degree in 92 or whatever.
buttigieg is getting a push because he is the only one openly taking money from lobbyists
mumbles u are so dumb I don't even know if I should respond to ur obvious trash sometimes cuz I assume I must have missed something in an earlier post or something cuz u cant be that off. like what is this bolded here? does ur brain assume since u know about this interview with the news station everyone else does too?? or is it in the ad?
WTF are you talking about?
I am not saying anything bad about auto workers, nor have I ever. Why would I?
I was calling out this fake displaced auto worker who in reality is retired and became a political activist, yet Bernie's video portrays him as just a regular dude who lost his job and is frustrated.
You are also clueless regarding what I've worked for. There are other ways to work hard besides physical labor. I will admit that I haven't had a job in the past 16 years, but I was a full time worker for several years prior to that, and also worked to get an MS in computer science, which isn't a cakewalk degree by any means.
Also counting programming languages you know is stupid, because it doesn't take very long to learn a new one.
bernie also wants to give voting rights to every prisoner currently in jail.
to give the other side such ammunition for something no one cares about suggests one of two things:
1) either he has absolutely no idea how to connect to minorities; or 2) he has absolutely no desire to actually become president.
If you still support student loan forgiveness and don't understand how stupidly arbitrary the proposal is, consider this example:
Say a politician announced, "I'm proposing that everyone born between 1973 and 1980 will get a $100,000 check from the government, unless they made $250,000 or more last year. Everyone else will get nothing. Don't worry, this will come from a wealth tax levied upon the super-rich."
Notice that nobody born in other years would get hurt (except the super-wealthy). But only people born from 1973-1980 would get that $100k check.
Would you support this? If you weren't born in those years, I'm guessing the answer would be NO (or at least, I'm hoping that would be your answer!)
Why? Because it's super arbitrary and a poor use of public funds, regardless of who is taxed to get those funds.
That's pretty much what is happening with the student loan forgiveness proposal.
Mayor Pete is currently being dogged by a 2012 situation where he fired a black police chief.
Apparently there were some racists in the police department in South Bend, and the police chief started having people secretly taped in order to expose them as racist.
Eventually Mayor Pete decided that the chief was being too aggressive and threatening in his racism investigation, and asked him to resign over it. The chief initially agreed to resign (as he was being investigated himself by state and federal authorities over the matter), but then tried to rescind it. However, it was too late, and he lost his job.
There's been a 7-year legal battle over the matter, including an attempt to get those tapes released.
This whole matter may come to hurt Mayor Pete in the primary, if it appears that he was trying to cover for racists in the police department.
From what I can see, it seems that Pete was probably in the right, but it's still not a good look when you're trying to win the Democratic Primary.
