There's actually a good reason all the sidedish's out there get an erection every time qanon convinces them that Hillary is running in 2020.

so where was it during the last election? like, when he needed it (ostensibly)?

like the magic of trump was a bunch of people who really had never heard of him saying 'welp, lets roll the dice on this guy, maybe he will make america great again'. it had little to do with hillary's alleged skeletons. and pretty much all those centerist swing votes got burnt.

the other 60% of his base or whatever, the qanon enthusiasts, the gun nuts, the evangelicals, the proud boys, all the larded-and-tarded rascal scooter driving diabetic boomers in their straw hats.. they are going to vote red and vote red loudly regardless of who the right wing tosses in the spotlight.

but those rust belt voters, they arent getting fooled twice. this shit did not work out for them. even tho hillary doesnt bring anything like warren's nascent butlerian jihad to the table, she does bring stability and the earnest promise to not say anything terribly stupid when the cameras are rolling. i feel like that would be enough right now.
For one, there's the baggage of having lost a Presidential election already. That is tough for any past candidate to overcome, regardless of their other issues. Only Nixon managed to come back from that in the modern era, and we're talking about 52 years ago.

Hillary lost for various reasons, and little of that would be any different today. She didn't appeal to swing voters. She didn't excite the base. She had a lot of legitimate baggage and shady history dating back decades, and try as the left did, it couldn't be dismissed as "right wing conspiracy theories", because in fact, it wasn't.

As you know, I'm no lover of Elizabeth Warren, but she's a better version of Hillary.

Aside from the Native American debacle, she has a reputation of being honest and genuine.

She hasn't already lost a Presidential election.

She's not seems as establishment, and excites the base more. Hillary brought zero excitement to the table. Even her campaign slogan, "I'm With Her", seemed to imply that her base was going along with her candidacy rather than excited about it.

She does have an edge over Elizabeth Warren in that she's not as far left, and wouldn't be scaring people with the plan to take away their health care (or other far-left proposals), but it's not enough of one to justify her return to the run for President. Plus, at this stage it's just too late.

It's hard to have lost to Trump in 2016 by a lot of electoral votes, and then tell Democrats, "No, seriously, I'll get it right this time."

Oh, and then there's still the bitterness among some Democrats about how she cheated Bernie...

If Warren does win the primary, her path to the Presidency is to drop the radical proposals, and just stick to bashing Trump and focusing upon very popular positions (such as her hatred of Facebook and big banks).

If she tries to campaign on socialized medicine, student loan debt forgiveness, free college for everyone, or anything like that, the swing voters are going to be really turned off and vote for Trump again, even if they're disappointed with him.

    coge.

i think that the key word there is socialized. i think she needs to never ever admit AOC+3 exist, and AOC+3 need to hang back and do exactly fuckall to rock the boat.

because concepts like free college or affordable medical insurance have legs if she ties them to shaking down wall street, its when they get cloaked in the stigma of middle class voters paying for them that it gets polarized fast.

It’s no doubt that the American Left is the worst run political group in the world.

Just need to win a few rust belt workers back who have been beat down by a changing economy. Okay, so what do we run on? Oh, I know! Let’s take the one thing away that they still have, their fantastic insurance! They’re surely going to vote for us now!

Anyone with a fraction of a brain knows there will be a giant tax increase down to even poor people to pay for health insurance. Warren’s plan calls for a massive regressive tax to be added.

She was actually kinda scummy in the way she avoided admitting that fact, too.

People would ask, "Will middle class taxes go up to pay for health care?"

She responded, "What you need to understand is that their overall cost will go down."

That is already practicing avoidance. She's trying to say that the typical family will pay more in taxes but save even more than that via lack of health care costs. However, she still won't directly admit that taxes will go up.

    But wait! There's more!

When pressed on it, she clarifies that "cost comes in various forms", stating, "When you can't afford a prescription, that's cost", "When you can't afford a certain procedure you need to get done, that's cost", and crap like that. So she wasn't even saying that the typical middle class family will save money from her health care plan. She's saying that the overall cost will go UP for the typical middle class family, but a few outliers (ones who need expensive medical care or rare, expensive prescription medicine) will see overall costs go down.

Not a good look, and Trump isn't going to let her off the hook on this so easily.

The country simply isn't ready right now to abandon all private insurance and have the government pay for all health care. Any candidate who pushes this will get clobbered by the swing voters.

Druff, you are deluded about the concerns of "swing voters". You are projecting your own moderate Republican interests on them and you are not in any way a "swing" voter.

Tulsi says she wants to be the president for all, not just those who support her and her supporters dont like being pushed so far left and this makes her a little more moderate than ALL of the other democrats. the rest all support communism socialism, authoritarianism, stalinism, bernie and LIZ most of all. Biden is totally corrupt. tulsi is also suing google supports free speech and is against late term abortions up til birth, though like all democrats she is pro choice until late term. but u can see how she is so different than the other democrats. i hate seeing whats happened to the great democratic party around the time of JFK. id like to see it brought back to the center. this way if they ever gain power, they wont be as dangerous.

ive listened to tulsis town halls, many of them, which of course is a few hours worth of you tube videos once i return home from the poker room. in one she talks about how she first went to congress and how her family assisted in making hawaaian food for the staff of every republican in congress for them and for their staff. and how after that they were glad to talk with Tulsi on working together on representation she needed thier help to pass. everything is about how much she puts partisanship aside to work across the aisle. this is exactly what america needs. i certainly dont feel that way about the other far out left democrats and their supports and i feel like most people hate me in general just because i dont believe the way they do

oh shit we picked up TBC as a political pundit and I didn't even realize it. SetofKs where u at

again we've all discussed the math but i do honestly feel like she's only saying this to force trump to dump more millions of dollars into prepping for a showdown that will never happen.

it appears that the entire warren/pregnancy story was essentially hatched at a pro-bernie think-tank (Jacobin) and then instantly went viral without being fact checked at all.
