What most probably don’t know is that Druff unbanned Marty late on Sunday, sent Marty a text telling him so at the time, but had a chance of heart and reinstated the ban shortly before Les started this thread.
This must have been right before midnight on the 31st. This site was simply down and I checked the pokerfraud.com version and saw it and it popped up here a little later. I wasn’t even thinking April fools. I just looked at it, checked skatz and saw nothing there, your Twitter was still up, and when I looked again I saw your name on it and wondered how I’d missed that. You had me thinking you were caught up in some sportsbook agent shit or something for twenty minutes before it hit me. Well done.
I released it a bit before midnight PDT, which I'll often do in order to beat all the "April Fools" jokes to the punch, thus giving my prank at least some initial credibility.
I actually came up with this one on the fly. There was no thought or pre-planning into it.
This was my 3rd April Fools hoax I pulled on the community. I mean, I may have made other April Fools posts in the past, but this was the third where there was any real effort put into it.
The other two:
2006: After an actual downswing on Stars which many had noticed me having, I seized that "opportunity" by feigning I was broke. Sometime on late March 31, I wrote a heartfelt-looking confession post, explaining that I had gone completely broke, and that I was even considering selling my bracelet (which I had won less than a year prior). The post was long and detailed, and most believed it, at least until April Fools talk started.
2007: I claimed that I had been hiding the fact that I had a 12-year-old daughter, who would soon be coming to live with me in Las Vegas. The backstory was that I had unknowingly impregnated a girl in 1994 during a one night stand in Tehachapi, CA, after meeting her on a party line. By the time she figured out she was pregnant, my phone number had changed, and she couldn't reach me. The mother had contacted me a few months prior, after having coincidentally seen news about poker and recognizing my picture as the guy who was the long lost father of her child. She then contacted me and demanded money, which I gave after taking a DNA test to verify everything. My proudest moment of this hoax was implanting a false memory in some people's heads. I claimed that she was "in the crowd at the Rio surrounding that $1k WSOP event where I finished 10th" and that people had wondered at the time what a little girl was doing there. I also claimed she was at a party I had recently had at my apartment. Amazingly, some people responded by saying that, yes, they had remembered the girl at the party and/or the tournament. In reality, there was no girl, nor anyone similar to her in either place. I just said it authoritatively and people invented the memories in their heads! The hoax was ended when I asked MissIdaho to play the part of the girl's mother, who was supposedly about to go to prison for drug offenses, and the girl was about to come live with me. We called her on radio and had a fairly convincing sounding argument, before MissIdaho said (as planned), "Congratiuations NWP, you've been rolled!" I actually felt bad because I got a lot of congratulatory messages and calls after announcing this, but wanted to wait until after radio before telling anyone the truth.
Fuck, I fell for it hook line and sinker
Slava Ukraini!
For some reason I could not upload the screen shot of that famous moment.
But today I can
Crap, don't know how I didn't catch "electronic funds transers" until someone pointed it out after-the-fact.
Oh well.. I guess only JSTAT caught it, so no harm.
This actually fooled a lot of smart/skeptical people, at least until they thought about it some more.
Overall this was a great success.
My participation in sportsbetting (albeit not as a bookie) over the last few years probably made this more believable.
I have to admit I was one of the Trolereed . I went to Todd Witteles @ Todd Witteles and and had a message that there was an error. Found out had another twitter name dandruff at dandruff I believe but didn't see anything out of ordinary outside of liberty chick that Todd is harrasing about poker kings scam poker site.
