We live in a global world, now, and the UK leaving the EU encourages a trend towards a more balkanized collection of national governments, and that increases the opportunities for the rich to find ways to fuck over the rest of us.

For example, see the vid I posted above that discusses how a Brexited UK can more easily become a tax haven for the rich, which is against the trend that most western governments have been working towards. And as explained in this vid, a Brexited UK will make it easier for corporations to weaken food quality standards in yet another market.

And that reduces pressure on large US food makers to adopt the healthier food production and quality standards that the EU has.

Personally, my main care is about the Northern Ireland/Republic of Ireland border. A hard Brexit is essentially asking directly for the Troubles to flare up again.

for starters the whole thing was russian trollfarm agitprop, not that mumbles knew that or cares. but for people with an eye on global power dynamics it was noteworthy.

for fat aging truckers who use google to muscle their way into every single conversation because the road is lonely, brexit could just as easily be sihk boxing or mid-century hungarian tapestries, as long as he can type something and hit enter its all the same.

Time for the Leavers here to repeat some ‘agitprop’ to prove these democratic results lack legitimacy.

An article like this is exactly the kind of agoitprop th uses actual data but in a deceptive way. Why? Because only the Brexit Party specifically calls for continuing with Brexit, while the Liberal Democrat, the Greens, SNAP, and UKIP welcome a second referendum that could result in calling off Brexit at best, and avoiding a no-deal Brexit at least.. And per the article I linked above, the four Remain parties garnered a higher percentage of votes (20% + 12% + 4% + 3% = 29%) than the Brexit Party 29%..

This article discusses which parties are pro-Remain.)

Your problem Mumbles is that you claim to know it all, but you actually know fuck all about anything. Even your googling can't help you this time.

Yet again I'm going to take your bullshit argument apart piece by piece.

Did you even read the article? It says IN THE FUCKING HEADLINE "‘Historic Moment’ as Brexit Party Tops Westminster Polls for First Time." Read on, it is talking about opinion polls. Nothing to do with any oddball Brexit arithmatic like the shit you spouted.

"UKIP welcome a second referendum". Oh really?? Do you know what UKIP stands for?

    20% + 12% + 4% + 3% = 29%. Hmmm.

Even if you could add up correctly, your analysis is still off. The SNP (not SNAP) vote is about 70% remain 30% leave. Yes, the party is pro-remain but their voters are not. Once you throw in the 80% of conservative and 40% of labour voters that are pro-Brexit and the numbers now weigh more toward leave than remain.

Please feel free to keep coming back to this thread for an education.

If you are so confident that a majority of UK voters want to continue with Brexit, why not have a second referendum to democratically confirm that sentiment?

Wondering what Brits on here think about this.

Queen Elizabeth agrees to Boris Johnson's request to shut down Parliament to force through a no-deal Brexit

the assertion that 'it was democratically decided on the first time' is false at face value; the potentially downsides of a brexit were deliberately obfuscated. literally people had no idea what they were voting for and thats not opinion, its what a lot of brexit voters said once they were explained the economic impact, how its going to impact their ability to move freely throughout europe, and the trade advantages they would be walking away from.

She just rubber stamps everything. That’s why it was never a question she’d do what the government said.

Also, direct democracy is prone to be subject to whim of the mob. That’s why no longstanding and healthy government operates as a direct democracy. And why the Brexit referendum only had the weight of advising the UK government of what a simple majority of the voters wanted *at that time*.

Queen Elizabeth has the power to replace British prime minister Boris Johnson at any time.

Too bad she can't replace Trump.

Apparently, the Queen there legally has the power to do some seriously consequential things if she chose to try to do so, including declaring war, make treaties with other nations, not approve laws passed by Parliament, and even repeatedly dismiss Parliament until one was elected that she liked. How long the current British monarchy would last if she did so is another question,

    In theory, yes, she can.

In practice, no, she's bound by tradition and precedent as much as anything, and is sort of bound to rubber stamp what the PM asks for in this case.
