semi obscure lines from tv or movies that you often quote because you're a freak and a weird dude

i will go back pretty far for two of them.

the 1st one is from gilligan's island.

i forget the story line but i think in in one episode the professor into a ladies man and talks in a different voice. he keeps saying maryann, maryann, maryann in a certain voice different than his characters voice. to this day every time i hear the name or meet any chick named maryann i use the exact voice the professor does in that episode.

the 2nd one is from threes company.

there was an episode where jack sells encyclopedias. in his training they give him a book on how to sell. when he sells the roper's he repeats what the book says. "My what a lovely three piece living room set" camera goes to mrs roper and she says..."it's ugly and it's two"

i find myself saying...my what a lovely three piece living room set quite often for no good reason when i'm invited as a guest to other peoples houses.

LOL the generation gap! The Professor saying Maryann’s name that way is a verbal meme of imitating Cary Grant’s pronunciation of the name of his love interest in movie he was once in, but twisted by folklore into him supposedly saying it three times in quick succession: “Judy, Judy, Judy”, even though he never did so in that movie.

And it became a verbal gag of people doing impersonations of Cary Grant.

I mention this because I would sometimes pull out my Cary Grant voice on a woman starting with that line even though her name wasn’t Judy.

From Mr Mom where Michael Keaton was feeling threatened by his wife’s new career and told her “Honey if you call and I'm not home I'll be at the gym or the gun club.”

I use that one often when a girl says she’s going somewhere.

Also a line from fletch where Chevy chase says

“It’s all ball bearings these days”

I pretty much use this for any comment on how shit has changed

I use different parts of this exchange from Stripes all the time.

“Lee Harvey, you are a madman. When you stole that cow, and your friend tried to make it with the cow. I want to party with you, cowboy. If the two of us together, forget it. I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I'm gonna volunteer my leadership to this platoon. An army without leaders is like a foot without a big toe. And Sergeant Hulka is always gonna be here to be that big toe for us. I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka.”

I use that “Lee Harvey you are a mad man”, or “I want to party with you cowboy” line on people all the time.

If I’m doing some shit where I’m clearly the least knowledgeable person on the subject I’ll drop the you’re my big toe line.

I also use that Francis line on people where If I’m leaving my suitcase or bag or whatever for someone to watch I’ll give them the ,”if any of you homos touch me or my stuff, I’ll kill you”

The best part of using obscure lines isn’t the 9/10 times people don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. When someone gets it you usually know you’re both fucked up and going to get along well. Problematic part is almost all these lines need to be an audience of your peers or it jumps to 10/10 don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

Hey, that was pretty good, except when you said, "Me llamo es Brian," you don't need the "es", just "me llamo Brian".
    Oh! So you speak English!
No, just that first speech and this one explaining it.
    You... you're kidding, right?
    Que?

I’m with BCR with “It’s all ball bearings these days”.
Also from Fletch my buddy says “Oldsmobuick”

From Weird Science: “He doesn’t stand for baloney you know”

My Cousin Vinny: “dead balls on accurate”

"Well, you can close the book on Kellner. [covers the microphone with his hand] Thank God!" from Harry Doyle in Major League. I'll take out Kellner and use it when I'm finished with something shitty.

Countless lines from Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop: "Let's hear your side of the story.", "Nah, I'm from Buffalo.", "I don't smoke Lucky Strikes." and from Jeffrey "This is not my locker."
