However, the company that owns Borgata Hotel & Casino is MGM Resorts. Phil Ivey has safety deposit boxes at Aria's poker room (Ivey's Room) and at Bellagio's poker room (Bobby's Room). Maybe they should try looking for large amounts of cash and chips there?

I don't believe he has anywhere near $100 million.
I think Borgata is just saying that because they want to justify to the courts that he's blatantly hiding assets, thus perhaps getting granted more power to research his holdings.
Maybe we will have Eric Bensamochan on radio next week and we can ask him about the jurisdictional issues.
I'm just about sure that they can't reach across country borders, but pretty sure anything they find in the US is fair game (though anything within the state is far easier).
Also, short deck poker is starting to spread. There's a $10k short deck event at the WSOP, but curiously no $1500 event, even though I think there would be interest in such a thing.
Also, short deck cash games are now spreading at some Vegas card rooms, though usually at high stakes (which explains why they're only doing a $10k this year at the WSOP).
