Somewhat related. I ran it up in blackjack there once, and after my last hand I tipped $40. That made the dealer angry enough that he shoved my chips towards me splash them. When I asked for a color up the pit boss said in an angry manner "just get out of here." I was wasted and happy and didn't care at all, but the people I was with told me they were pissed that I didn't tip more. I was tipping as I was playing too, but I guess they felt entitled to more of my money. Dealers at Bellagio definitely act rude and entitled occasionally. This guy's story is bizarre though, just sounds like she really doesn't like him for some reason.

    Dealer wasn't happy with a $40 tip?!

    Wtf?

You should have complained to the pit boss. Dealers get in trouble for shit like this.

I stopped playing BJ at Bellagio many years ago, but I agree the dealers are rude.

One time I showed up and was betting $600 per hand in 2 spots (way more than I usually do), and of course I ended up with 7 bets going at once, after a series of doubles and splits.

    $4200 was on the line.

Most of the hands were mediocre 17 type crap, and dealer had a 5 showing.

Dealer turned over an 8, then drew a 9 to barely bust.

So I was actually about to give a decent tip (hadn't decided how much yet), when the guy next to me piped up, "Wow! That's amazing! Dude, you should really leave a nice tip for that one!"

Before I could say anything or act, the snotty female dealer responded, "Oh yeah, he SHOULD, but I don't know if he's going to."

What a bunch of entitled bullshit.

I left zero point zero because of that obnoxious comment.

It's like the Secret. He put her thoughts out there, and the laws of attraction brought her the future she expected.

At the time I thought they were angry because I took them for so much money. This is a great feeling, so I didn't complain at all. After we left the table my friends told me it was because they didn't like my tip.

I'm starting to think you just shouldn't tip in blackjack. A counter on the gambling with an edge podcast said he never tips. He said that if he gives them a small tip when he is running great it pisses them off/offends them way more often than satisfying them. If he tips them what they feel they deserve it kills his edge and makes it pointless to play. So he said he just doesn't tip unless he thinks the tip is buying him something.

I thought I was the only person that had this happen, about 10 years ago when I use to hit the pits I ran 100$ up to 1400 and some change while playing BJ in Milwaukee. I tipped the dealer like 30/40 ish I can’t remember and he goes that’s it. I asked if it was his money I played with or did he set the cards for me? After an awkward silence I walked away wishing I took the tip back. I look at tipping in a casino like this, it’s my money I risked it no one other then me had an opportunity to lose.

Few years ago I won’t 5 k on a slot machine, I was drunk put 100$ in at the GN downtown LV and on spin 2 I won the money. The slot agent, the chick who paid me and the host stood around expecting tips. They all got 0$, not because I’m cheap but they didn’t provide me with a service other then bringing me money I won.

Something similar, spirit airlines is asking to tip flight attendants and the argument was you tip waitresses. My thought was waitresses make 2$ an hour and tipping is their income. If a person is making 20/30$ an hour and expects a tip for doing their job there’s something wrong with that. If I’m provided exceptional service I’ll tip and generally do that but I shouldn’t be expected to on an airline.

I had a match play for like $200 or $300. Put that bitch on the don’t pass because fuck the other players. Come out was a 2 or 3. I win. Dealer asks if I want smaller denom if I’m gonna keep playing, I’m like nah I’m done cash me out boss. He gives me the blacks while saying it’s customary to tip, do you want smaller chips for that? I’m like oh yeah, sure. Can I get a buncha whites reds and greens (NOT MEXICAN)? So he does that, I scoop ‘em up and peace out. Fuck that guy. Make him work more and no tip.
