Federal Sports Betting Bill introduced (Sen. Hatch and Schumer)

    This is interesting...

Seems it would not be such a bad thing for everyone. I live in Florida which just passed amendment 3 this election, which means no gambling expansion without voter approval so it would presumably take years for a bill to make it to a ballot, then pass the 60% voter approval bar (high). It would seem to me, in Florida at least a a Federal bill to enable sports betting, would mean we would have legal sports betting in Florida much sooner than it would take to get one via the States approval. Also I read the basics in the bill and I think its actually good, and fair to most. It doesn't include any entitlements to the leagues.

Here is a good write-up about the nuts and bolts of the bill

whats everyone think about this Federal Bill to regulate sports betting

I bet you your choice of marginal sports apparel (t-shirt/Hat) that by the time this thing gets voted on it will
    Include “entitlements to the leagues”.

Hatch is leading the charge on this.

The DOJ is reportedly going to issue a statement tomorrow, possibly reversing the 2011 opinion on the wire act This would obviously have a major impact on internet gambling, especially in States that have legalized it.

If this turns out bad for online poker I'm putting on a yellow vest and rioting in the streets. Who's coming with me?
