    Wilder v Fury

Fight is this Saturday in LA Staples centre

Apparently ticket sales have been poor, not selling due to the high price and that neither name is a draw in the states.

At first Wilder predicted there would be over a million PPV buys but even half that would be a big success it will probably do much less.

I like this fight because it’s tough to predict, a real 50/50 of sorts. Most are going either Wilder KO or Fury decision, I’m leaning toward Wilder getting the decision after Fury outboxes him most of the fight.

There’s an American ref, and judges are Mexican, Canadian and British so think any close rounds will go in the American’s favour even when those wild windmills hit gloves judges may be swayed by the crowd cheers.

Boxing is more popular than ever in other parts of the world, just not in America it seems.

Since Tyson and Don King dropped off now all you’ve got to cheer for is a ginger Mexican so no surprise it’s dead.

If Fury or Wilder fought Joshua in the UK it would break records.

Americans only enjoy sports which they're good at.

UK is the new home of boxing

Sadly though I think Wilder wins this one. Fury has just been too inactive.

Looking forward to this. Just a bit sad it isn't Joshua/Wilder

Probably because the rest of the world is dumb enough to believe boxing is legitimate.

Joshua Wilder isn’t happening anytime soon, Barry Hearn said recently that Wilder’s team wanted the fight this year, whereas the Hearns / Joshua are thinking two years down the line.

Doesn’t make business sense to have Joshua fight Wilder yet when he can rinse a few more stadium fights

Whyte rematch locked on for April if he beats Chisora, plenty of other options elsewhere to make big money whereas Wilder needs Joshua or else it’s back to filling small Hall shows on Alabama.

If he loses to Fury the Joshua fight won’t be on the cards anymore as Wilder could brutally KO Joshua which would hurt his rep, whereas the Fury fight will always be on as a big domestic fight because he has the excuse of losing ten stone and not being fight fit whilst posing minimal chance of KO’ing him.

Wilder has a rematch clause with Fury, so that's the only thing which will prevent the unification fight with Joshua IMO

If Wilder wins then the AJ fight happens next. It just has to.

Yeah Joshua said himself if Fury wins it messes things up a bit due to the rematch clause tieing things up for a while.

I don’t think Joshua is ducking Wilder, Although I’m sure he recognises him as the biggest threat - Eddie Hearn tho will not risk his cash cow unless everything is stacked in their favour.

On paper this should be a huge fight, two undefeated champions (Fury lineal), Wilder a KO machine, but problem is that the American public couldn’t give a hoot about him he doesn’t have the charisma or entertaining style like Mike Tyson did.

Fury KO is least likely outcome but would be good to see Wilder get flattened.

So I looked at this fight last night and did some tape watching on both fighters.... ugly stuff really the HW division is sad.
I mean sure they are both big and have power so there is that but technically I give Fury the edge, Wilder is a wild swinger but does set up his 2 nicely with a solid jab. After that its hammer fist/ wild swinging. Opens himself up badly at times.

Fury more technical but not as good of an athlete so it just doesn't look as fluid.

Its really a 50/50 or who goofs up first with a rookie mistake and gets hit due to it.

Then I looked at Joshua and was impressed then his last few fights and went meeeehhhhhhhh another great athlete, great power, show boats too much, runs out of steam and again technically not great.

Joshua still edges both out but man its like a 8 vs a 6.5.

Heavyweight boxing isn't dead but if you killed 3 men it would be.

Not sure how Fury got up but their always is a rigged judge everywhere, however, the English judge is the one who had it 113-113 so you really should blame that guy he needs to make sure no draw can happen on his card knowing one of the other guys won't be judging straight up.

Oh well sets up the rematch and that is what boxing cares most about the future money that they will gain from this since it will be way more the second time around.

I mean, Americans could never win in Germany no matter what the fuck happened, so lets slow down on the "always in America" stuff.

That said, fun-ass fight I'd be down for watching again, which is not a thing I ever expected to say after these 2 slobs went at it.

finally, here's what a dumb-ass I am. I'm so used to hearing about majority draws that when they announced a split decision, I was sure there was a definite winner, never considered a 3-way split. LOLjoke was on me.

It's not the judges I blame tho, they're just stooges, the guys who take the money AND the blame. Something is very rotten with TPTB in American boxing and the sport seems powerless in preventing such obvious fraud.

No wonder boxing is on its arse over there.

But yeah, cracking fight, never seen anything like what I saw in the 12th. It looked impossible.
