This is a good watch. It is 100% real footage as it happened - there are no re-enactments and not even a lot of narration.


It the story of Fakhir Berwari ('Crazy Fakhir'), a Kurdish colonel in the Iraqi army and legendary bomb disposal expert who single-handedly disarmed thousands of landmines across the country with just a pocket knife and a pair of wire clippers.

This guy walks through, digs up and disarms them like they were nothing more than some childrens toys that need to be picked up in the yard after playtime.

This guy has been nearly blown up several times, lost a leg, and was even given several awards from the American Military because of his exceptional duty (this is very very rare for a non-American soldier to be given awards and medals)

His amazing luck ran out in 2014 but his son found tapes in a briefcase of hours of footage of him, which has now been made into this documentary

As far as a metal detector or even more high tech equipment, I dont think he would have wanted or used it if given the opportunity (which i would imagine at least someone has asked him through his time). While Iraqi or American forces would wait for an EOD team to show up, this guy would just say fuck all that noise and walk right in and disable it like it was no big deal.

Half way through the doc, i found myself literally sitting at the edge of my seat until the end practically yelling at the tv "dont do it!"

I had to pause and walk away when in the last 1/4 of the video the fucking cellphone rings while he is in the home.
Im not going to give away any more spoilers.

When he went trough families homes was the worst feeling for me. It gave me a new view as to how much ISIS really fucked up peoples lives there by planting bombs EVERYWHERE

You could obviously tell though that this guy was not in it for money, medals, or anything else...he just genuinely didnt want his countrys men, woman, and children to have to face this. By the end of the documentary you will really understand how much I mean this.
