i hate the celtics so so much.
but at least the lakers lost to the hawks
Anthony Davis scored 3 points last night....he made it obvious he doesn't want to play in New Orleans anymore. They just demanded too much for him with the trade offers. Now the Pelicans are fucked. He's going to half ass every single game until they sit him, or he gets "injured".
I donno. He does most of his work inside. In the NBA he is going to be surrounded by elite athletes much taller than him with massive wingspans. Is he going to be able to get all those offensive rebounds and putback’s in the nba? I doubt it.
I don’t think he is gonna suck, but people are acting like he is the second coming of lebron. I donno.
On espn they are replaying a lot of old kentucky games when they were stacked. Past teams like The one with KAT and Booker were always 1 or 2 loss teams that blew out the opposition night after night. This team plays a bunch of close games they sometimes lose. Some of that might be Zion’s skill set possibly not translating to W’s as much as youtube highlights.

How do you figure? A player who comes out and asks for a trade....and doesn't get traded after multiple offers. This is not going to benefit him at all. Now teams know he wants out, and they know they don't really have to pay him what he's worth. The guy basically flipped over his cards in the middle of a poker game.
The Lakers were basically ready to trade their entire team (other than Lebron)...and some draft picks just to get Davis. That wasn't enough. The Lakers just said "fuck it" and stopped negotiating. Now Davis is stuck in New Orleans, playing like a bitch because he thought he was worth more than he is. That's a bad look for a player in any sport, no matter how good they are.
You really are a moron stick to red repping solid posts you meaningless troll.
It had precisely zero to do with AD and everything to do with New Orleans front office. He gave a list of multie teams he would play for and the front office does the rest for the most part. Amazong you think Anthony Davis was a patt of the NO front office makong the Lakers look like desperate bichs.
Stick to red repping you worthless troll because your posts are retarded.

He’s pretty much worth almost any asset anyone has, but he pretty specifically only wants to go to maybe one team, or possibly one of a couple, and they aren’t teams that have the right mix of assets. Boston has built up a war chest to acquire him, but he’s saying he wants no part and won’t resign, so they have to question how much to gamble on a rental who doesn’t want to be there. When you pretty clearly only want to go to one team’s and they don’t have that stud Tatum type young player to couple with picks, there isn’t much to do. He’s an unreal player in a Kahwi type spot where he’s disgruntled and the Pelicans at this point would rather have a lottery pick anyway, because they’re going into rebuild regardless, so might as well get a lottery pick in addition to whatever package of picks and young players they end up with over the summer.
Young garrett is correct here.
Davis wanted out of NO and would have been thrilled to go play with Lebron, be a hero in the huge Los Angeles market, and have a shot at a title.
The Pelicans front office decided they wanted the world, so he stayed put.
A lot of their fans are pissed about this, knowing that Davis is ultimately leaving anyway.
Now, yes, the Lakers looked desperate, but they had reason to be. This crop of players is going nowhere fast. For years, it's been, "Just wait until some of these talented young guys get older and more experienced", but we've been waiting those years, and the team continues to suck. It would again suck if Lebron weren't there (look how bad they were when he was out). Remember when Julius Randle was considered the future of the franchise? How did that work out?
The Lakers basically need two superstars and some semblance of a supporting cast in order to have a chance to beat the Warriors.
Lebron and the seven dwarves ain't gonna get it done.
The problem is why would NO want the cast you accurately described? None of those guys are good. No pick in the next five years is worth anything if they send Davis as they’ll all be late twenties at best. All NO could do was ask for a bevy of picks five years from now, but it’s LA. They’re historically good most of the time, Davis will still be there in five years and only 30ish. They’re worried their team will be in Seattle or Vegas by then. It’s a tremendous blow to lose Davis and to lose him for a bunch of mid range prospects is horrible.
a couple points re AD
1) the league owners reaaaaally don't want to set a precedent where a player can force a trade (to LA of all places) two years before the player is a free agent. this is every small market owner's worst nightmare.
2) assuming that the pelicans would have traded AD to the lakers under any circumstances -- which i'm not sure of -- they might rather have draft picks than players (ala "the process").
point being, even if the celtics won't give up tatum, they have better draft picks to trade than the lakers. if the pelicans don't think lonzo, ingram or kuzma will be stars, they might have thought it was better to stockpile additional picks and go full-on tanking rather than take the lakers' scraps and stay mediocre.
This Lakers team. Losing to the Suns. Unreal. I was kind of pulling for Lebron and the Lakers even as a Cavs fan, but this is amusing. Every move they made this year was just so poor. Seeing Magic just flounder is also kind of amusing. Everything he’s ever touched has turned to gold. Amazing player. Great businessman. I thought I was watching a dead man during that aids press conference and it’s almost 30 years later. He was always horrible when talking basketball on tv, but I didn’t expect this shit show.
It’s a fascinating shitshow, BCR.
Let’s start with Kyrie Irving and the Celtics implosion. Did you follow “the phone” between Kyrie & LeBron last January?
Alledgedly, “the call” was about seeking advice relative to handling younger players and their inconsistent performance. A patronizing and paternalistic approach that pissed off all of LeBron’s team mates in Cleveland.
The young Celtics were publicly pissed.
Unlike Cleveland, Kyrie’s services as a mentor and coach are not required as the Celtics have Brad Stevens. Who does Irving think he is?
Kyrie has achieved similar results as LeBron here in Boston. The guy has been poison. A night with Kyrie on the bench is to revisit the success the Celtics had last year for an evening.
Of course, apologies and advice was not the purpose of the call. Kyrie was touching base and mapping out his personal options beyond Boston.
Celtics fans will buy Kyrie a bus ticket anywhere he wants to run.
How can you as a follower of the Cavaliers and LeBron have any kind of soft spot for that insufferable fool?
