The US doesn’t even rank in the top ten per capita on CO2 emissions anymore.

The US was set to pass Canada in per capita emissions in 2017 or 2018.

In 2017 EU emissions went up! While US emissions were down another 1.7%.

The US would be the one of the few to only country actually meeting Paris climate agreement numbers even though they were the only ones who chose not to participate.

Even if the US reduced it’s CO2 footprint to zero it wouldn’t matter because LoL China and India are increasing theirs so fast it has a net negative output.

While we’re waiting for abrownFOS to respond, I did find a source that conservotards would agree is reasonable, and the US *has* lowered its energy industry-related CO2 emissions by 14% from 2005 to 2017, and primarily because of much more electricity being produced with natural gas versus coal.

    https://eidclimate.org/eia-u-s-carbo...y-natural-gas/

But that trend isn’t projected to continue given that most of the private sector-driven switch from coal to nat-gas has already occurred. And the US still has double the per capita emission rate as the EU despite the respective year-to-year changes each has experienced since 2005.

So, yeah. Enough with conservotards posting selective statistics on the matter.

You post a lot of shit about the establishment. This bitch is the establishment. Won’t go the fuck away when her name alone can raise a million dollars for some redneck in Arkansas. She’s toxic, and her mere presence threatens all she claims to care about. Complete establishment politician and a large reason why Trump is still slightly the chalk in 2020.

Lol at needing someone needing to tell me that Pelosi is toxic. If you lived here and watched them run ads, which are effective, in close bellwether races, for 15-20 years, you’d be aware of this.

You might ask yourself why California and the Pacific Coast is the most reliably liberal bastion of US politics and yet has never have produced a president for the Dems? It’s an easy answer.

The positions one needs to hold to keep their seat in California, presently, are incongruent with the majority of Americans. That makes them incredibly easy to demonize. You don’t see Dems running ads against Mitch McConnell in some local race in Florida or Delaware. It simply doesn’t happen. The Dems have allowed themselves to be labeled a party of coastal elites and surrendered their working class voters that decide elections because they look at their leadership and don’t see someone they identify with.

So that Pelosi’s positions might benefit them on 90% of the issues gets lost on people working 12 hour shifts to make ends meet and they only catch ads about her fighting for transgender bathrooms or some
other boogeyman position that she has to take to remain relevant in California and political operatives all over the country go to town on her. They run races all over the country as if tbeir candidate is running against Nancy or Hillary rather than their actual opponent, because their actual opponent is not nearly as polarizing as the aforementioned politicians. This is all politics 101 in the US. It’s how democratic successful candidacies are red necks from Arkansas and Georgia. It’s why we have a GOP president from Manhattan. As red as the south is, you can’t win the middle if you’re a southern Republican. You can’t win the middle if you’re a California Dem. Reagan and Nixon could. It’s why I laughed at those who thought Cruz had a better chance than Trump. Cruz is winning absolutely nothing here in the rust belt. Gingrich and other far more charismatic southerners didn’t stand a chance to win the middle. It’s the counter intuitive part of US politics, that if you come from a really solidly red or blue area, the positions you need to hold there almost disqualify you. It’s why governors win easier than senators. Less national track record. Obama was a total outlier and an exception to the rule because of his charisma and unique demographic appeal. No other Chicago politician could pull it off. Other Dem presidents came from the south.

If I truly and passionately believe in certain issues, and my association has caused it to have a lesser chance of success if my name is attached, to continue to hold onto power is complete ego and I’ve become a detriment to the cause rather than a positive. This is fairly self-evident.

you're obv a lifelong republican living in the most embarrassing time for that party. the fact that some rich fat cat could lie his way to a presidency, lying in particular to the working class, points out what a disgrace that party is and has been for very long. if the american public does not realize that republicans represent the real power brokers by now then they will remain in their position and real turmoil will follow

yeah she may be toxic in your mind but doesn't come close to the insanity of the republican party as a whole

Dude I’m a lifelong democratic voter, former union representative, who has advocated for democratic rule in every political post I’ve ever made and have worked and canvassed for Democrats exclusively, and im friends with the guy who tried, unsuccessfully, to unseat Pelosi as democratic house leader. And even as someone who has known him for like 20 years, I didn’t think he was a great candidate for house leader for multiple reasons. The last fucking thing I am is a republican.

well then we must agree that the entire american political system is toxic, from the electoral college, the gerrymandering, the business of advertising for election, the lobby groups allowed to influence, all of it has little to do with democracy and less to do with the average american.

pelosi may rub you the wrong way but her counterparts are have somehow made democrats look like the devil

“that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth'

what are you waiting for, you have a response or not
