We REALLY dont need to know all your thoughts, folks. Its giving morons the perception that their existence is valued.
If you see lots of stupid bullshit on Twitter, Facebook, or any social network, it's not because there's a flaw in the platform. You're just using it wrong. Stop friending/following dumb and boring people.
Lots of users feel obligated to "follow back" on Twitter, or add 100s of people they don't know on Facebook. I fully reject that. Marco used to give me a hard time about refusing to follow certain fans or colleagues, or worse, unfollowing them. I've loosened up on that over time, but I'm still not going to allow my feed to get clogged with mundane shit that I don't care about. Otherwise there's no point in even reading it. The account become useless.
There's one person in poker that's the absolute worst with mundane tweets. I've seen gems like "just ran out of toilet paper" and "my eyebrows hurt". I have no regrets unfollowing that person.
