Maybe he got really fucked up when the goons ran him off the road and into a pole and died a couple days later (after he spoke with his wife) since they obv couldn't check him into a hospital.

    chat log:

    https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...l#post27581326
You have been transferred to: Tony.
Hareeba Hello Tony, Roderick said I need to chat with you
I've been back playing at 5Dimes for about 4 weeks after something like 9 years
All was sweet until I think it was Saturday when I found my bets were being reduced to win just $50
Tony i guess its no longer "sweet" for you
    Hareeba without any prior notification/warning
I'm guessing that the fact that immediately prior to that I went on a winning streak of I think it was 10 bets?
Tony nothing to do with a "streak"
    Hareeba oh, what then?
    Tony because i can
    that is why
    Hareeba you can what?
Tony do what i just did
Hareeba sorry but I'm not following you ... what reason for the reduction in my bets?
Tony you've been given that answer.... "because i can" so we're done here

    Hareeba that's all?
    Tony have a great morning
    Hareeba it's worse than that
not only are the bets limited but there is something like a 45 second delay whilst bets are "processed"?
Tony that is just terrible i truly hope your morning gets better
Hareeba I was told by Roderick that you would be able to answer my questions
looks like he was wrong yet again
Tony no one here has a clue
    not even me
last time, hope your morning is a brighter one
Hareeba Is there nobody here who can give me a straight answer to anything?
Tony i'm the boss of everyone here
so if i can't help you, i guess your "unhelpable"
Hareeba this has to b a joke right?
    it's not April Fools yet
Tony thank you, i'll be sure to mark that down
    i sometimes get confused
Hareeba one of us has been drinking?
Tony please don't drink and drive it can be dangerous

Hareeba so, I take it you no longer want my business? I keep hearing what a great book 5Dimes is!
Tony don't let those rumors fool you
Hareeba clearly I have been fooled (or am being)
Tony jesus loves you, never forget that
    Hareeba I'm a devout atheist
Tony jesus loves you either way

Hareeba I must have done something wrong for you to be treating me in this way?
Tony that question is above my pay grade
Hareeba If I were the owner that wouldn't be an issue any longer
Tony i don't know about that one, I wasn't aware that I was here for "IF" questions

    Hareeba it wasn't a question

I don't recall if it was Tony or someone else, but I used to play 5dimes back in the day, and I once accidentally bet the wrong side of a bet and I asked the live support to change it to the other side and they said no. WTF? And it wasn't like I was a sharp or anything. I was (still am?) a major square who always lost and never withdrew money at all, and they are being a dick over changing the side I was betting on (before the game had started obv). Like I said, I dont know who I was talking to, but I remember the support person was rude and an ass, so probably good chance it was him.

Refusing to change a bet is actually fairly standard on these online books.

    The plot thickens!

Someone else told me today that they talked to someone who knows Tony's lawyer, and that Tony's lawyer told the person that the body found in Costa Rica wasn't Tony.

Today Creighton’s body was found, and as per our sources the strong suspicion is that he was a victim of a kidnap- for- hire scheme hatched by someone very close to him. Cause of death is yet to be established. Creighton’s wife allegedly had the ransom money wired to a family member of hers, reportedly the lesser $750,000 request.
The OIJ will be investigating further, and report their conclusions in the coming week. Fellow sportsbook operation owners in Costa Rica have expressed their sadness and regret at Creighton’s tragic death.
I doubt it. They are the competition. They are happy he is dead. They would love to take his place as the top Sportbook in Costa Rica and take all his customers.

This is the second time Cuba is mentioned. It was reported somewhere that the Bitcoin ransom his wife paid was 'cashed out in cuba' I'm pretty sure that it would be impossible to figure that out simply by looking at the block chain. Maybe a cuban IP address relayed a transaction...but that is pretty irrelevant.

Makes me think someone is intentionally pushing false narrative.

Sometimes the word pugnacious works on multiple levels. This would seem to be one of those times.

    My thinking is....

    1) He faked his own death hence the family not reporting to police when he first went "missing" giving time to run.
    2) The wife and again why not first reported to police.
    3) Was a true kidnapping but would had to have been inside job based on demands so either wife again or employee.

    RIP

I haven't even seen his wife, but I'm sure she's way out his league, even with that said, the culture in Latin America is way different than the US, I just dont see her doing that. Women tend to value a man that pulls them out of the slums, no matter how repugnant they look.

Not in the least bit true at all. While I am sure he scored above his league, women in Latin America are cold blooded beasts and would easily kill their husband for money or family. Don't you watch 90 day fiancé.

Case in point... Arturo Gatti and countless white business men found dead in fields in their latin wife's home lands.

If that's really Tony, it's the closest I've ever imagined how someone looks after only hearing their voice.

The pic badguy23 posted is of Rocco Pantaleo, an Australian restauranteur who died in 2010.

In 2011, the pic somehow made its rounds on the SBR forum of being Tony. It isn't.

Some more info. This article from a CR newspaper describes (perhaps not very well) how Homeland Security may have been on to who "Tony" really was/is back in 2016 because of an obit posting where he was mentioned. If true, it might point to a need to fake a death/move out of CR as some have speculated..

Obituary Helps Find Person Linked to Costa Rica’s 5Dimes Sportsbok & Money Laundering
written by Isabella Foster Villanueva 2016/03/19

Costa Rica News – A possible owner of the 5Dimes sportsbook has been found via an obituary for the death of Marianne Creighton. The only child of this woman and Sean Creighton is Allison Stawarz.

Allison’s name is linked to money laundering using a scheme involving betting with Amazon gift cards. When tracking the woman they were able to make a connection to Pennsylvania and then find her relationship to her mother mentioned in the obituary.

The Department of Homeland Security also linked her father to the sports betting business.

The authorities were alerted to a series of high cost Amazon purchases from the same IP address and a domain in Costa Rica.

The Pennsylvania home of Ms. Stawarz received from the shopping portal gold valued at $ 168,000 and a safe that cost $700.

She also received about $483,000 in six other currencies.

About 4-5 years ago 5 Dimes abruptly pulled out of the very lucrative PPH business over something else that happened with some financial investigation I believe in Costa Rica. It was an odd choice because he a lot of PPH business and never stopped dealing to US Customers but there was a story a short time after that about this "investigation".

It was before the whole Amazon Gift Card thing.

The guy was clearly a trailblazer - 5 Dimes I beleve was established in 1998 with the help of Al Ross, the software provider who is from Akron, Ohio. "Tony" was one of the first people to use Ross's software, called Unified Gaming. Ross, I believe, would go on to work in the payment business with PrePaidATM in the early 2000s.

His software was one of the first - it was a downloadable client because the Internet connection to CR was so slow back then - all satellite. Only Antigua and Canada had fiber for gaming sites.

Ross's son, Denny would be convicted of murder and featured on Dateline.

Tony and Ross were there at the genesis of the business side of online gambling.

Every notorious bookmaker offshore always gets indicted - there are almost none whom everyone knows their name and escapes this plight.

My gut tells me he is dead, but he clearly is cut from another mold and anything is possible.
