A buddy of mine who is a retired Air Force officer said he loved the Concorde when he was stationed at the Pentagon. They flew in fresh French Pastries virtually every morning just a few hours removed from the oven.

Given how expensive space on the Concorde was, what are the odds that this was an amusing lie he would tell to impress the gullible?

Would assume that eventually Musk will try some sort of high altitude just out of the atmosphere passenger flights. My simple mind tells me that drag would be lower up there if you can ascend without too many issues. Plus that high up sonic booms shouldn't matter. Basically figuring out how to make a passenger her version of the Blackbird.

It's not a question of technology, but economics. Boeing could start designing a feasible one tomorrow. The issue is that the fuel cost would be so outrageous that it wouldn't be worth the trouble, and there's no getting around that issue.

Urp! I forgot that wealth disparity between the rich and the middle class has grown to Gilded Age proportions.
