Yes it’s too early. They started 1-2 in 2014 and won the Super Bowl. The past few years they have gotten off to slower starts, but have always been there in January and February. Don’t forget that every nfl head coach is mentally retarded save Belichick. I refuse to call it until they miss the playoffs.

everybody was like, 'uh oh what's wrong with the pats...they're done'...CIN was coming in on Sunday night (I think) and they were rolling at 3-0, coming off a bye and were like 2 point favorites going into new England...

they're still in a division with the dophins, jets, and bills...they have MIA coming into their place in week 4...they win, they're a game back...if they would lose that one, then it might be time to start getting a little concerned...

It’s a bit early. Still, 41 is 41. One of these slow starts isn’t going to turn around. Don’t know if it’s this year, but it’s soon.

Their WR core has been pretty depleted, next game vs the Dolphins will be a big one for them. Better wait to see how much effect Gordon has before you write them off !

They are very weak at the skill positions right now. Even if they have a down year this year, that is something that can be rebuilt in one offseason. I wouldn’t necessarily call this the end.

What I don’t understand is where all their salary is going? Besides Brady and Gronk who is even making $$ on this team. They get rid of all their skill position players because they don’t want to pay them, but who are they paying instead? The money has to go somewhere.

Gilmore has a huge contract...think he makes like $12 per...

EDIT: here's their top salaries...was right on Gilmore...interesting they pay Gostkowski $5...also not shown on here is their punter making $2...seems like a ton for a punter...interesting that they chose to spend $7 on their specialists...

Only 2 offensive skill position players on that list (gronk and Brady). And it shows.

Hard to criticize them too harshly for putting $$ into kickers, because we have seen plenty of teams that skimp on kickers lose games because of it.

But it definitely seems for as slow and average as their defense seems they are putting way too much $$ into it.

I can see spending $12 on a lockdown corner, which I think Gilmore is supposed to be, but man paying $12 for a free safety seems like a huge overpay...I cant imagine that any safety is worth 7% of the cap unless they are some sorta savant who can defend both the run and pass at an elite level and even then it would seem like a stretch...

but that's belechick, he's gonna spend on D and specialists because that's his gig...im sure it pains him to have to pay gronk $12...probably why he wanted to trade him to Detroit instead of paying that money out...

Their skill position players do suck, but that’s been the case often for the Patriots. Brady was simply so good in the past that he could make some benchwarmer from another team an all pro. Now, he’s to a degree, human.

The incredible talent drain that they had in the offseason makes their usual form reversal less likely. They need both Gordon and Edelman to hit the field running and stay that way for the rest of the season so that they can hope to reach double digit wins by overwhelming enough teams with their passing game. Given Gordon's mountain of personal issues and Edelman's age and injury, this may be like the football equivalent of hitting a gutshot on the river.

Bentley and Burkhead just went on IR.

That now means that of the first four players that they drafted this year (Wynn, Michel, Dawson, and Bentley), only Michel is not on IR.

absolutely foolish to bet this shit unless you're a degen

fact is indy is a shit team..and you know miami isn't anything more than a 9-7 team. and both games were in NE.
