Hey guys!
I took a hiatus from poker and started playing again within the last year. My results are improving and I'm honing my skills. At one point I was talented at the tables. Unfortunately, because of some mental health issues, I struggled with emotions. I am doing great these days on that front. The doctor has me on some life-changing medications that improve my mood, patience, and thought process. I have made a miracle turn-around, and am looking into my future with a renewed brightness. I am enrolled in school and plan on obtaining an AA in economics by the end of this school year and hopefully transferring to a four year and getting a bachelor's degree. I've started reading and am absorbing the material well; school starts in about a week and I am very excited!

I have made a few thousand dollars this year playing live, and would like to try to get a roll going online. If someone is interested in staking me, I can play on Black Chip Poker or America's Card Room. It would be best to exchange cell numbers so that I can send updates on bankroll amounts.

I ratholed a few thousand with my mom. She keeps a savings account for me. I was up almost 10k at one point. Anyway I made sure to spend a bunch of money and enjoy myself while I was grinding Once the money is with Mom though, it doesn't go back to poker.
I have been working here and there with the migrant workers. Manual labor is just too hard for me these days, but it's the only thing I'm really willing to do. I have a pretty bad back but I do go and stand outside in front of Home Depot here and there and work for a day.

If your gonna take a run at an Econ or Finance degree... consider changing your game.

There is a bigger casino - Wall Street. All the gamble you have come to love and you just might find it more interesting and perhaps easier.

Learning the game will help you value your courses and you will crank out papers writing about something you actually care about.

Load up $100 on Robinhood. Just trying to figure out what the fuck is going on will be worth $100 of education.

If you really think school and that degree is what you want to do I can recommend a fun book or a daily routine that will be guaranteed to convert you into a degenerate equities guy in 30 days.

Liars Poker by Michael Lewis.

Library or Amazon.

It’s an older book so it will probably be sitting on the shelf in a library.

It’s about a guy, Michael Lewis, who luckboxes his way into a Wall Street firm in the late 80’s.

He was completely unqualified and ended up making huge salary. He thought what he experienced and the people he worked with were so absurd that he quit and wrote the book.

This is the best part. He wrote the book to give an insiders take on how insane Wall Street firms were but college kids wrote Michael Lewis thanking him for this “how to get a job on Wall Street book” which was never his intention.

It’s not boring. It’s character driven like a movie. He describes the outrageous people he worked with. It’s pretty funny.

I fucking loved it.

There’s many a mention of Liar’s Poker on the forum. Lotta guys here have read it. Always gets a thumbs up.

All kinds of tangential knowledge is dropped. For example, Michael Lewis was present at the birth of mortgage trading. Which pays dividends later cause the whole housing crisis deal.

What is more enjoyable is his description of the guy who invented them. Lewie Ranieri, “The Human Pirhana”. The stories are fucking gold.

Frankly, Liars Poker has little to do with day to day trading. It just sets the tone for believing equities and trading is what men with hair spilling out of the front of their shirt - real men with testosterone- do.

How have you not learned yet depsite people telling you that ACR is the site you DO NOT want a stake on? It's the toughest by far for cash games of any site you can play on as an American and it's not even close.

Scrape together some money doing whatever you can to legally to get it and deposit on any site but ACR if you are intending to play cash.

Global, Bovada/Ignition, or BetOnline are much better options then playing all the reg rakeback/thebeast leaderboard cash grinders on ACR/BCP (WPN).
